Good shout Neil. I have fond memories of being involved with the kids comps and they were great fun. I will be happy to donate a Rod and Real for a prize. Greg

Why not combine both ideas, fish as often as the junior is able throughout July, for a most species category, and have a fixed day/date in August, biggest fish, where we try and get them all together for a “fish off” final. Pizza and chips and a prize or two? I would be happy to offer Loobie 1V into the mix to take out 3-4 juniors and minders.

Greetings! I attended last nights meeting in Poole and joined the club. New to using a boat on the sea (2022 Highfield CL460) and new to fishing I am looking forward to exploring the coast and learning loads. I also passed the VHF and powerboat course last year. During the winter I installed a Garmin Echomap SV75, NMEA 2000 network through to the Honda outboard. A chirp transducer is on the way soon hopefully. Perhaps I need a local Honda outboard (BF50) service agent. Perhaps a mobile engineer. I am keen to keep running costs down and hope to service the outboard myself, while keeping the warranty going. The Rib was bought miles away in York. That was a fun trip towing it back here! Ta, Pete.

That's my rib. I did try and post a pic of it. Let's have another go.. Cool it worked this time. Very happy with the boat. Have done about 45 hours on it so far.

That sounds like a sensible idea. Good job Mal and myself gently led you to that conclusion! [emoji1787] I suppose the competitions representative should gauge interest? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ok so here's some thoughts on Junior Comps for the Summer Holiday period fished from July to end of August. We call it an invitation to Juniors most likely with family connections with an Adult in attendance not necessarily a member but on a members boat. 1. Have a small £5.00 entry to buy a prices or prices. 2. Run it for the whole period with biggest fish wins initially. Develop it if we get good entry levels. Register your fishing and send in the weight and a photo. 3. Have a thread running with fish caught so far for a target. 4. Hopefully with a presentation at the end of it at the club meeting. Please add your thoughts and develop the idea to a workable low maintenance event to make some memories with Grand children, your own kids, nieces and nephews and so on. Without the hassle of one date, weekend or week day and certainly no weather cancellations.

I don't have any specific ideas, but minimal help from the responsible adult would be good. So that the kids actually learn and practise to do things all for themselves on the day. Maybe (depending on number of participant) they fish together on a bigger club boat or two club boats! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
