Calling all you whizzz kids,Not really fishing BUT... I was having problems with my E-bay site, [all u.s orientated ] They were good enough to answer my e-mail with a very thorough reply. [well theres an occurrence for the record books] They explained that my cookies were to blame,and described how to look at them and to delate any referring to E-Bay.Also stateing that having too many cookies operative would slow my PC. I have never looked into this area before,but I find I have 6 headings of cookies,all with dozens and dozens listed.I opened some to see if I could find what they were for but only got a line of script meaning nothing to me. I have consulted my " PC's for Dummies" book but there is no mention of cookies ! Should I go through all the lists and Delete them ? or will I lose valuable material.sorry to ask on here but there is always someone who has the answer to everything [bloody good club-site this one ] so it's worth a try. P.S. Dinasaur friendly answer required please....jack

We have a bait tank in the floor on pal-o -mine,but it only circulates water when you are on the move. we also have a superdooper deck wash hose,but Andy won't let me run it when we are drifting or anchored up. he feels it will hammer the battery too much.!Comments please..jack

Rich.Good useful reply as usual from you. But whats the score with BASS from the harbour ? I thought you couldn't do it !! but on Sunday last there were 2 man commercial boatmen in {I assume a Poole canoe } as well as a couple of charter boats all obviously targetting the bass. am I missing something here ?...jack

Thanks all of you for your replies..When we caught them we assumed they were Tope, {believe it or not,this was our target species ] but we had no previous experience.I looked them up when I got home and they seemed to be too skinny for tope.I will get Andy to stick his finger in thier mouth if we catch any more [purely in the interest of scientific research of course]. Do tope,especially pack ones usually just give up ?. we both had 30lb line ,6/0 or 8/0 hooks with 6' of 100lb trace.and 6oz leads . on the drift ,in a flooding tide. Finally no-one ever had occasion to ask us before,"where we were fishing" Thanks Mike. We were about 1 ml. toward Poole from the Needles Light on the outside edge of the Dolphin Bank. I am sure that this isn't a secret Mark !....cheers all...jack

Andy and I fished on Sunday last...[You know,that was the day the fish were too hot in the water and were desperate to be pulled out !] We had 9 Smoothhound all under 10lb.and 2 dogs .discounting an endless scource of makerell....However, we were using both whole live baits and either half a fish or a full fillet. The bite indications were excellent, and we lifted rather than struck into each fish. But each one gave little more than a slight head-shake,and came peacefully to the boat-side,to be lifted out and returned.They showed more life in the boat than in the water !!.Neither of us having caught Smoothies before,is this normal behaviour ? [the fish,not us ]...jack

You have our word for it that Andy and I have not kept too many Bass or Cod since joining the club....Nor for a long time before joining,for that matter,and now I think about it we have never even ca.........Oh well, it's the thought that counts.!Jack

Said to be fairly common if the products are of slightly different composition.the chemicals from production re-act to one another. I try to keep each brand separate,and often dust them all with talc.to help keep them apart,seems to work and I tend to keep my lures much longer than other club members due to reasons that I don't intend to bring up here :(jack
