  1. Had to work this morning and with the great forecast got away as soon as I could to fish one part of the tide, filled up with fuel and then across the bay to North of the Dolphin bank where I saw PJ fishing along side Mike Toms (bassncodforme) and Martin Cherrett said hello and then thought why not fish along with these guys. Baits in the water about 12.30 cod on about 25minutes later after missing 2 good bites this one about 10lb, Then the usual dogs and 3 undulates best 14.10lb.Hour later cod number 2 smaller about 7lb then hook up at 2.20 as didn't want to go in against the flood. Great when a plan works so total boated on Wishin Too in just over a week is 7 ,shouldn't be long until the biggies are in but due to other activities I won't be able to get out again until the cod comp. Mike and Martin had a cod each when I left them plus a turbot and PJ had a turbot as well. Also saw Mal but he will hopefully do a report Great to see a few club boats out Nigel
  2. I can't see how they are going to monitor 10 bass per month in my eyes a total ban would of been easier to police
  3. Well Fred you got the boat for it now stick on your outriggers never know might even get a marlin

    Bow Thruster

Fitted one to mine last year I bought a twin bladed kit with tube because only place to fit one is high in the water on my bow. I used Bob 07747026499 who done all the Fibreglass work and mounted the motor,I don't know if he is still around as I haven't seen him for a while but try a call,he done a great job. Then a very nice man from the club and I wired it up,as I have a twin battery set up we just run it off those.

  9. Only one tiny conger and about 3 dogs where we were Dave but others were pestered by strap congers, take loads of bait as the whiting are destroying even the best wrapped baits
  10. Another go at the cod this time with Mal as crew, the trip across was bumpy so only 16 knots and dropped the hook to fish exactly where I did yesterday and hit it spot onπŸ‘ Within 15 to 20 minutes I had 2 cod on board that were expertly netted by Mal who started "is that all I'm here for"πŸ˜‚ But fortunately he then landed a smaller one that was lip hooked so he released itπŸ‘ Later he had another about the same size as mine to 10 to 11lb so a good day with 4 cod. Mal had a go with baited feathers and caught quite a few nice whiting and quite a few mackerel !!!! The afternoon was very quiet on the flood until the tide dropped then the whiting come back on the feed A great day with great company Won't let me add photo so I'll do that with Tapatalk
  11. I didn't try for whiting just big baits, heard of 2 turbot caught out there today 11lb and 18lb plus a spurdog
  12. Eventually got on boat at 9.30 after sorting a few things at home but with no speed limit in the harbour I made good time to a mark south of the Dolphin Bank where I found these 2 Stuart and NealπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ On this mark I only had a few dogs even when my anchor decided to slip still only dogs there too,so after a couple of hours I moved to the Needles car park where a charter was on my preferred mark so picked another. It was still slow with dogs with congers in between to tug my string then I had a different bite and hooked and lost what felt like a nodding cod😀,had a feisty Thornback ray that I thought was a small conger. Tide went slack and had a few more congers including one so small thought it was a silver eel, then the tide started to ebb so I gave it 20 more minutes with massive whole cuttle. Nod nod "cod on "and when I looked at my other rod that had a nod nod as well but I was unable to set the hook on that one while playing this fish. Not a big fish about 9lb and as it was lip hooked I put it back after a photo
  13. Have a great birthday Stuie

  23. Really not used Wishin Too much at all this year compared to previous seasons due to having a slight lack of power which until recently now seems sorted. It was only a slight loss but it peed me off as wouldn't go over 20knts and was slow getting there, separate fuel supply was tried.....same.Injectors tested......same,all new fuel lines and filters for the umpteenth time.....same.Talked to Paul from BBMS at the boat show and he said the fuel pump had an internal filter but was unsure where,so surfed the web and eventually found a diagram of the pump under Land Cruiser 4.2litre with a filter under the fuel cut off valve. So Saturday night with torch in hand and Sandy along to nag me I went down and stripped it down ....there was a small ball of fluff/fibres clogging the filter.Cleaned all out and a blast out Monday pm........I got 25.9 knots....................at flipping last and that was with a very dirty hull from lack of use. So today I thought I'd take a "Mick Pike"or other wise known as a Mal Thomas ( a day off)πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Boat went well today but I had to remember how to fishπŸ˜‰ Fishing was slow outside the harbour apart from small bream then I had a clonking grey gurnard at 12oz then a tub about 2lb that went like a bass on light gear........that was about it apart from a small joey and more bream. So went in the harbour where fishing was much more active with good size bream loads of bass and a keeper plaice. Great to get out again and even better that I have full power back but I will get her bum scrubbed before the cod trips
