Popped out today with a mate Conrad that had never caught a cod......no pressure then! Straight out to the carpark on a lovely day where I had a couple of congers then later nod nod so I hit it and passed it to Conrad which he duly wound up a small cod and said " still haven't caught one". So I caught another 3 which sort of impressed him but says"I still haven't caught one" so I made up a special bait for him all nicely wrapped,down it goes and 10 minutes later......"I think I might have a cod on". He huffed and puffed but eventually lands one.....thank god! So 5 cod today all around 7/9lb got through tons of cuttle and 7lb of squid but at least I broke Conrads cod cherry

The way I read it was a total ban for commercial and recreational for the first part of next year then recreational allowed one fish?? Will be interesting if it proceeds further

Neal as crew today so left Cobbs at 8 with the radar on due to the fog which wasn't too bad but when past the quay was required in places. As the tide was still building went and tried for plaice by the piers which we found by boscombe and had a good session with 14 or so with 3 keepers for Neal with some tubs,whiting and red mullet as well. The tide dropped and so did the bites so pushed across the bay to north of dolphin bank and dropped the hook away from the other boats there.Action straight away with good sized whiting then I had a 40lb conger.Then Neal caught a cod.........much to his surprise about 7/8 lb.More whiting with a few dogs and a spotted Ray then the tide dropped so then it was pout and dogs until it started to run then Neal caught another cod......about 9.5lb,he's getting the hang off this! Pulled the hook just before 3.30 and headed home where we saw Martin and Dean coming in on their Double Decker. A good day by being at the right places at the right time,I think Neal was pleased but he done a Nigel and forgot to smile for his piccy Also managed to squeeze Wishin Too under the old bridge at 2.2metres by putting my radar between the rsj's I'm sure I'm going to knock something off my cabin roof one day!!

Probably happened to quick but should of cut and buoyed the anchor and chased it

I knew I should of tried my squid jigs,took them but didn't get round to trying them. Lots been caught of of Bournemouth pier at night up to 2 feet long,I caught 3 small ones Thursday night off of Boscombe pier
