Just as a 'heads-up', my insurance company won't insure a cat C boat beyond 11 miles out. John

I am fairly sure, having watched them for an hour, that the two people were repairing the boat hull, not removing parts. It is hard to remove bits from the boat, while standing up to your chest in water in difficult surf, with the gunwhale of the boat level with your head. john

2 crew were working on it by wading alongside this afternoon. no idea what they were doing, but they were getting thrown about by the sea conditions. They had the boat anchored both ends, stern to the beach, just by the entrance to baiter car park in very heavy surf. John

Just came up the Poole town quay and across the bridge at midnight, air clearance was 1.65m. Not seen it that low before. John

Most memorable for me was a fly-by by the vulcan Olympus test bed for the Concorde engines. Four normal engines, and an Olympus slung underneath. When they lit up the Olympus, the Vulcan looked as though it had benn kicked up the jacksy... accelerated like a rocket, and the noise!!! john

Had a shock the other day. Was bored, so I googled 'John Wilcox'. Loads of them, none me. Then I googled Andrew Wilcox, also loads of them and none of them were (was?) me. Ditto 'Andrew John Wilcox', same result. Finally, I googled 'wotu2uk' Imagine my astonishment to be presented with my photo and my name (Andrew John Wilcox) pulled from this forum by Google search. Seems that nothing is private these days! John

Finally got the structurescan (sidescan) sonar fitted, all working on the quatside. Relaunch tomorrow with luck. So if anyone wants to see it working it will be available on family day, although I need to learn how to drive it (and the boat). Had 15 people watching as I made a total cockup of berthing it the other day. Got a round of applause when I finally got it on the finger after 3 attempts!! john

You are also welcome on Rosie One anytime, perhaps you can even teach me how to catch fish instead of just fishing. john
