  1. Great post Mike , very educational for kayaks i must say . .
  2. There were about 20 species caught in the OK classic in May , difficult to drift fish on the bottom because of snags , try floats in close or anchor further out for rays .
  3. No problem , lets hope a few more come next time ? Didnt half take some water onboard doing the seal launches. .

  5. Firstly brilliant report as usual Paul, When a plan comes together its very satisfying but then you wonder if it was too cautious considering the fine conditions . As it was my first trip out from lulworth and on a spring tide I was determined not to end up with an epic struggle battling against the tide so timing was important as was the route . 0700 launch ,high tide in mupes bay 10.14 , fish worbarrow area till 1200,lunch break on beach ,sail /paddle with 7/8mph SE wind to durdle door, low water 1504 ,play about , land back in lulworth 16.00ish . We stuck to the plan apart from having too much fun at durdle door and stair hole and I think we got in about 17.30 . . Paul has a great way of playing things down and on more than one occasion his reply to my concerns were

  10. I have received an email with a report and results from darnsarf, , It goes like this Despite some decent fish being caught during the Grand Slam in Christchurch Harbour on September 18th no one competing managed to catch both mullet and bass, leaving the title still to be claimed. The competition is supposed to be highly challenging with around only 10 per cent achieving the Grand Slam (catching one of each target species). It relies on targeting challenging specimen fish, so what better challenge than mullet and bass. There is real kudos in achieving the Grand Slam and the Lower Stour fishery can certainly brag about specimens. In 2011 double figure mullet and high double figure bass have all been caught in this protected catch and release water.
  11. I have some news regarding training to discuss at this months meeting , get him to come along lofty ?
