  10. Martin ,would it be better if us kayakers fish the bass comp and postpone the kayak comp until later in the year on a more suitable date , dont want to upset anybody by winning three trophies in one day I am sure it wont stop any of us from fishing that day and as we havent had kayaks in club comps before it would be good to see how we get on against the boats, What do you reckon ,would it be easier that way
  11. Alun the kayak comp is also this Sunday
  12. For the kayak comp best specimen will win , ie 3lb bream will beat 4lb bass , you can enter the bass comp too if you like. Ben

  14. Lofty, just keeping an eye on the weather but after talking to Adam at this months meeting we will run the comp as club rules suggest in the competion talk section , so club waters and a nominated 7 hr period between any twelve hours on the day , two kayaks must be fishing together and result is done on honesty , I will post again on Saturday to decide where most of us will fish Sunday . Ben

Morning had broken to a beautiful sunny day so it was breakfast then down to the beach for 08.30 for the species hunt which was sponsored by whitewater consultancy ,they were giving away a fully kitted fishing kayak to the winner, with other prizes down to 4th place . After the short briefing by the organisers it was 10.00 when around 70 kayakers launched with rods to be out by 15.30. Paul(HB) and myself headed to the point of the bay which was on the boundary of our fishing area Within minutes of anchoring I was into this lovely little ballan Next up on the same mark was this bull huss pup I up anchored carefully as someone had drifted past trolling some feathers and got them caught on my anchor warp and proceeded to cut his line and paddle off
