  8. Out today also, as Neal's guest aboard Court Jester ( for a change ) together with Ian Simpson - who's always guaranteed to keep the banter at max level.. Once again Neal found the cod for us - this was after a number of jumbo pout and regular visits to the kennel. We ended up with six cod to 8lb 12oz as well as four good whiting. Another enjoyable day afloat.
  9. Hope you're having a good day.
  10. Very well done Nigel - 'we are not worthy'

  12. Why we are taking the government to court The Angling Trust, Fish Legal and WWF-UK are in the High Court today fighting a judicial review of the government’s failure to stop agricultural pollution degrading 44 rivers, lakes and estuaries which are specially protected areas in England. We believe that the government was required by the EU’s Water Framework Directive to stop this ongoing pollution in these sites by 2015. They haven’t done this and so we’re taking them to court. You can read our Chief Executive Mark Lloyd’s blog about the case HERE We have been working on this case for the past six months and it’s a key part of our Save Our Salmon campaign, but if we win it will benefit all species of fish in our precious rivers and estuaries. If you’d like to add your support with a donation, please clickHERE We will be holding a fundraising event for the campaign early next year, and we need auction lots to sell at the event. Pleasecontact us if you can donate a few days' fishing or anything else appropriate! As a result of our pressure, the government is holding a Salmon Summit today and Mark Lloyd will be giving a presentation at the summit setting out what needs to be done to restore salmon stocks. We’ll update all our members in due course with a progress report. Please encourage everyone you know to join up as a member of the Angling Trust and Fish Legal. We need more support if we are to take on huge battles like this, and win. Thank you very much for your support, as ever. It is united in a collaborative relationship with Fish Legal, a separate membership association using the law to protect fish stocks and the rights of its members throughout the UK. Joint membership packages with Fish Legal are available for individuals, clubs, fisheries and other categories. 13. On Facebook (where there is a picture) the above boat has lost its mooring and is on rocks near the ferry. Apparently HM Coastguard are in attendance. According to our records this is not a club boat. Does anyone know an owner?

  15. Dave - the 3 month coarse fishing ban applies to rivers - not to lakes or canals which can remain fisheable throughout the year. Even the river close season is again being questioned as to whether it's required.
  16. With a menu like that you'd better be prepared to repel boarders Terry....

  23. About 150 Police shore anglers from across the UK sang Alfie the time honoured greeting at the Police National Shore Championships Presentation at Sandown last evening. Quite an event - he even picked up a trophy and some coin for a section win....... Can't keep a good man down.
  24. Nice report Martin - more practice needed with the regal wave though.....
