Hi Gents, I've been making some leads, pirks etc, and would like to make some " assist " rigs for the pirks. Could someone please give me advice on the best hooks to use for this................as I am getting baffled by the choices available !!! I know there are some expert pirkers on here , any advice would be appreciated Thanks, Mick

Try packing the gap with grease, get a bit of wood ( dowel / broom handle ) AND GENTLY TAP IT IN........the pressure should displace the bearing................ that used to work for me most of the time, good luck. Mick

Hi Charlie, thanks again for the advice, I would let it dry before I put it into pot.......it was just a comment on the weather I will wait until a dry day, and also ensure lead is totally dry, even if I have put it into the oven first !!!. I do not have a garage, so its all gotta be done " AL FRESCO " Excuse the pun Cheers, Mick

I;ve borrowed the club moulds, a kind roofer has given me some lead .............. but i've been let down, and do not have a source of melting lead in. Hi gents, well thank you for your inputs today.........................but since posting earlier I have found that the Dragonfly cannot be fitted to a shaft drive according to Raymarine instructions found on internet Glad you are happy with it Graham, looks like I'll have to go down another route though. I've got same problems as yours Pete, it's a Lowrance X102 and screen flashes / freezes up, can be a real problem at low water at the end of " F" pontoon ............... the shallow end !!!!! I also tried the contact cleaner , but no luck on that either. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY Mick
