  1. Happy birthday Alun, trust you are having a nice time in great weather.

  3. The weather does not look like it is going to be favourable this weekend, we will keep our fingers crossed for a miracle, Neil will give us a decision soon.
  4. More likely to be a tope, smoothie has flat crushing teeth.
  5. I cannot follow that Ian, brilliant. The worrying statistic on Spring Watch, delivered with dismay from Chris Packham was that our Rivers are some of the worst in Europe after all the progress, we are still miles behind their quality.
  6. Sent Matt a pm he might see that.
  7. Mick the anchor will be in my front porch so you can collect when your passing.
  8. Thats fine. Mick
  9. Anchors available, some unused and one rigged 5kg brittany as an emergency / second anchor with 12mm braid and 6mm chain. One small foldable stowaway anchor. 3kg One new 5kg bruce type. and one second hand free 5kg bruce probably give to me when I was having a few lost ones. One 10kg Brittany . All need new homes make me an offer.
  10. Happy birthday Jerry, looks like Chris has been on the DOOMBAR.
  11. On Y -Knot without tide considerations, I burn around 1.2ltrs per mile at about 20 knots. So not to bad, I have a 150hp Yamaha which I am very pleased with. For distance travel I would work on 1.5 ltrs per mile which seems to be about average. Jerry the commercials are buying petrol at a fraction to what you pay at the pump, hence the move to outboards.
  12. Happy birthday Martyn.
  13. Our new guest Neil might be interested, what layout is it, side and back door? Is it still in Portland.
  14. Cheers Guys take my eye off the site for a couple of days and all my secrets are revealed. Btw it was a pleasure Neil, there was lots of times when I was looking, when I just wanted a quick look around as I knew what I wanted just like you. As a capable vessel with flexibility to suit your Family, I think you have found the right specification, good luck with your search and if I can help further just ask.
  15. Thanks for the heads up on the lifejacket checks, hope the day goes well.

Hi Tim welcome to the club, Iam the safety officer and will be happy to help where I can, as a yakker there are places and tide races to avoid at the wrong times, which Iam sure you will know about, lofty will help there as well. I trust you are fully kitted out like lofty with all the aids and drysuit ect, cant be to careful on a yak, we operate on channel 6 and you probably saw myself and Chris on Kingfisher at the plaice chase. Welcome and feel free to ask away.
  17. Belated Happy birthday Fred
  18. Like P J said we have a poor history of looking after our stocks, I hope we get another chance.
  19. Charlie we fished on the Sunday and I stuck my neck out and said watch out for the higher gusts predicted Sunday, when we left the Harbour I was getting some stick about what wind ect, by the time we dropped anchor it was blowing a hooley from the North, that disapaited and returned to calm, then a cool westerly blew a hooley for the rest of the afternoon. Iam happy to keep an eye out, and put a post up if a warning or cancellation is necessary, more effort but as long as members appreciate your effort that is fine.
  20. Where is Chris w in the results.
  21. The gusts look a little lively sunday at 20mph from the west, so a little protection might be available for those not venturing far. Please be careful. Mal Safety officer.
  22. Make sure you get a steer from Alun jones re route out even though you draft less than a foot.
  23. Lofty, you have a great crowd who love your effort and turn out for you. You care for all of them when they are afloat and they feel safe in your hands. It was a pleasure to help out on the assistance boat with Chris, he bought all the rolls, sausages and bacon we dished out today. The tremendous efforts he has made to raise money for H.o.w over the last twenty odd months has been fantastic, the man has a heart of gold. Well done to the both of you in a great event and a good cause, well run and enjoyed by all, with all the fish caught today your next turnout might be even larger.
  24. WEATHER UPDATE FOR THE PLAICE CHASE. Lofty the weather has slightly changed and turned ssw and increased for launching 7.00am -10am giving 8-21 decreasing to 9-15. Landing/ beaching 13.00-16.00pm giving12-15 decreasing10-13. This is on xc weather.
