Thanks everyone, I have had a great night out with friends that mean a lot, you all do and I hope that I can give something to the club over the next few years that will give people the enjoyment I have had from this club. This is a great club with people that make it special, cheers ,let us make the next 25 years special for the forthcoming members. Mal.
  4. The weather looks ok for sunday, please be careful with the awkward wind at anchor it was tiring today keeping your balance. If your not comfortable please seek the shelter of the lee of the land it should be much calmer with the northerly closer in.

  7. We could see you from Hengistbury Head through my binoculars, it looked to be very comfortable, I was put off by the forecast and regretted it.

  9. Dont forget 50% of our fish, bottom dwelling fish dont show up on the fish finders, if you have a fish holding bank or mark give it a go. As the safety officer for the club we are always careful to point out that training and VHF radio licenses are essential when going to sea and life jackets should be worn at all times. Make sure your jackets are tested each season, as Brian said join the club and be safe out there amongst fellow club members. Also as an observation on your post, we are on last quarter tides before neaps you should have no difficulty holding bottom in the bay on 8oz leads, are you fishing nylon straight through or braid?

  14. As always Nige is great company on the boat, the gum chewing in replacement for smoking is having some adverse effects, good job we were out in the fresh air keep with it Nige and give up the cigs. Look out tomorrow Chris.

I agree Greg,although the south coast is not exempt from producing power and sites are limited, other coasts around the country have had some carbuncles landed on them and I tend to think that a compromise might be found whether it be smaller or further offshore it might happen. Not in my back yard gets my vote but that doesnt carry much weight.

  19. Watch this thread over the next year or two, someone has invested a fortune and u turns are always possible. Heathrow has been defeated many times but its back on the agenda.
  20. The story could follow the pattern of the Heathrow additional runway, off this year but back on the agenda next year. You may not have lost your new reefs just postponed for now.
