Thinking of it from a slightly different angle, as an ex chef and just getting a new Rick Stein restaurant opening in Marlborough, perhaps we should get the powers that be, to also target restaurants (if not already doing so) to push farmed bass. Unfortunately compared to the real thing the fish farmers have still got work to do. I will try and get in and see the chef because if you could get the likes of RS to push it, I would think it would be a real help? Or am I being very naieve and to simplistic

Well done Stuie, This really is a quick easy reply everyone, got to be worth it

Yes he's young but I feel sure fifteen minutes later he would agree, but be looking for a good fishing holiday!!!!! Ok, less than fifteen minutes but we all remember those halcyon days when we performed like gods, and had happy wives and mistresses!!!

Happy birthday glad you got your bit of fluff out so you can use the boat.

If you can cope with a drive to Wiltshire I can sort you somewhere no problem. Spring would be better than now, but if you want now I can do. One of my beaters works for Ray Mears so might be able to help out if you wanted. PM me if any interest. Jerry

Hi Tony, I travel down from Marlborough to my boat at Cobbs. I started on the dry stack then ended up on the water with a new boat!!! Look out its infectious. Cobbs great, expensive , but ticks all the boxes, if you can go under the bridges I don't have a bad word to say about Cobbs except I should of kept a smaller boat!! Keep asking questions the club is enormously helpful when your new to the area. Jerry

I used to use Golden Arrow when I had Hondas, and still do with my Yamaha. Expensive but need to be proper dealership to keep the warranty up. I spent a long time looking and didn't find a more attractive option!! They have always been very good and efficient. Good luck! Jerry

I am sure all the local members may well know about the Lyme Regis aquarium. I was there last week celebrating my wife's step mums 80th!! We walked the Cobb and I took a deep breath and payed £6 each to hand feed mullet!!!! The quality of the condition of the fish, mullet, bass, various rarer wrasse, weever, LSD, starfish, sea urchins and others were very impressive. I was amazed that the mullet were slower growing than Bass?! Anyway if any one wants a good couple of hours I can recommend it. An amazing aeration system and the volume of water pumped through was awesome.

Hi Mikey, I have AIS on my new boat which is a quite wonderful tool for your armoury. I am still very much learning about it and did not know I had it when I bought the boat !!! The alarms needed turning off as they keep going off with the number of AIS registered vessels going in and out of Poole!!! I still am no expert but it is another great device to have on board. Good luck with your refit.

Two Proffesional patches, has stayed inflated 95% for the last 3+ years dry stored, trolley wheels. 5hp Honda ran well, serviced by Honda 3.5 years ago not run since. Will obviously run up and check. I paid £750 4 years ago offers around £475. Might split

Well done Mike and all others who took part, it was a fun day and not easy at times with wind and tide playing a big part in targeting higher point scoring fish! Star crew was Jerry S who managed a spotted, small eyed, and blonde Ray in the day with other oddments, Henry Giddings first trip at the age of 11 had a Smooth hound pup and his dad managed a mackerel, skipper managed an undulate and some oddments. We really struggled with all those species we normally cuss!! More by luck than judgement we were placed 5th I think, unfortunately I came over a bit rough and did not witness the awards, I believe it was shock at Niggle telling us how many species he had when coming back into the marina!!!!!!!! Such a gent!!!!! A really fun event with great organisation from Dave,Kerry and Mr Barracuda, and the food which looked and smelt great which I missed but the clubhouse will have great roses next year!! Thankyou all organisers.
