  2. Hi Tony, This months saltwater boat angling magazine has a good article on the use of the Alderney ring, I am pretty new to the club, the monthly meetings are a must to get to know a few faces, All friendly and lots of help and advice when required Jerry
  3. I am sure all the local members may well know about the Lyme Regis aquarium. I was there last week celebrating my wife's step mums 80th!! We walked the Cobb and I took a deep breath and payed £6 each to hand feed mullet!!!! The quality of the condition of the fish, mullet, bass, various rarer wrasse, weever, LSD, starfish, sea urchins and others were very impressive. I was amazed that the mullet were slower growing than Bass?! Anyway if any one wants a good couple of hours I can recommend it. An amazing aeration system and the volume of water pumped through was awesome.
  4. Well done Mal, you were brave doing the deal before selling but heh they say the sun shines on the righteous !! Well done you can relax and enjoy your new boat, hope to see you out there before I have to retire for the season.

  11. Wonderful fish and fishing! The kitchen department did well too!
  12. Hi Mikey, I have AIS on my new boat which is a quite wonderful tool for your armoury. I am still very much learning about it and did not know I had it when I bought the boat !!! The alarms needed turning off as they keep going off with the number of AIS registered vessels going in and out of Poole!!! I still am no expert but it is another great device to have on board. Good luck with your refit.
  13. Before I put on EBay anyone interested? 2.7m Honwave inflatable takes 2 big people fine or 3 more normal size! Inflatable floor, keel. Two Proffesional patches, has stayed inflated 95% for the last 3+ years dry stored, trolley wheels. 5hp Honda ran well, serviced by Honda 3.5 years ago not run since. Will obviously run up and check. I paid £750 4 years ago offers around £475. Might split
  14. Good luck Crazy Fred! Never met, but you deserve your trip after all your hard work/ homework after last Saturday. I hope you have a great trip and hope Mr Whippys new venture comes good for one and all. Have fun, very jealous!!
  15. Well done, we saw you heading out and could hear the roar after we couldn't see you any more! Congratulations
  16. Well done Mike and all others who took part, it was a fun day and not easy at times with wind and tide playing a big part in targeting higher point scoring fish! Star crew was Jerry S who managed a spotted, small eyed, and blonde Ray in the day with other oddments, Henry Giddings first trip at the age of 11 had a Smooth hound pup and his dad managed a mackerel, skipper managed an undulate and some oddments. We really struggled with all those species we normally cuss!! More by luck than judgement we were placed 5th I think, unfortunately I came over a bit rough and did not witness the awards, I believe it was shock at Niggle telling us how many species he had when coming back into the marina!!!!!!!! Such a gent!!!!! A really fun event with great organisation from Dave,Kerry and Mr Barracuda, and the food which looked and smelt great which I missed but the clubhouse will have great roses next year!! Thankyou all organisers.
  17. Loobie 111 would love to join in but very unlikely, I look forward to seeing what no doubt will be an impressive line up.
  18. Well done to everyone especially juniors! Sorry I could not join you all. Are Brad and Jacob available to give oldies some instruction?!!
  19. Happy Birthday Chris, hope you are out fishing not just drinking all day

  21. Sounds a great day out Stuie well done.
  22. Just bought offshore, looks like I have overspent if you guys are getting coastal. I am interested in a PLBs Mal but away in 24 hrs so will contact you on my return.
  23. My thoughts are what a sad world we live in. When you see/read Western approaches from Chris I think we are maybe better off staying in to put our points forward. The volume of jobs involved compared to the likes of the steel industry, I would imagine would be relatively small in the fishing industry, so no government will move with any intention/aggression to help out the poor old Bass. We unfortunately have to keep banging away however much it seems like an up hill waste of time, some one some where must listen before it's too late. PLEASE Preaching to the converted I know
  24. My thoughts also Tony, Thankyou for spending the time and having the knowledge to download the whole debate. I hope that all of the positive points put across so well will be listened to. A little praise goes a long way to the MPs who have spoken out for us, I shall certainly let my MP know she did not respond to me or make an effort to attend the debate!
