    gps help

PJ, the Lowrance distibutors are only in Romsey under the Navico banner now. NAVICO UK LTD PREMIER WAY ABBEY PARK ROMSEY HAMPSHIRE SO51 9DH +44 01794 510010 sales.uk@navico.com Are you on a red or a blue network and is the gps module the only item on your network? My guess is that you are on LGC2000 gps module with a blue connector, there were a lot of issues with that module have a look for a label on the bottom of it and see if it has the ESD protected sticker. Other things to try is to check the power to the NMEA network is present, find the "y" lead and look for the cable containing a red, black and shield and make sure you have got your 12v between the red/black. Also look at the 60ohm resistor end cap for corrosion and connection. There was also a software update for the LGC2000 that might be worth a try. My guess would be that the module has gone tech on you, if you have to replace it get an LGC3000 or 4000 and a lead to connect to your blue network, as the newer modules are built to survive better when flooded with radar signals, which is what caused the older ones to blow. http://www.lowrance.com/upload/Lowrance/Do...-021_020604.pdf If you need any help give me a shout!!! Simon L

  11. Got to agree there PD, i bought 3 recently, any idea what makes them seconds? because i cant find anything wrong with them at all. Simon L
  12. Be aware that as from april next year it is being proposed by VOSA that all trailers will have be tested every other year, capacity plated and carry a CE mark, so all your hard work may cost you a lot more bringing it up to regulation if that comes in. I think it would be money better spent buying yourself a decent second hand unit in the long run, because if VOSA get their way, and they will soon it will likely outlaw a lot of home made trailers overnight. Simon L
  13. i can do, if at a weekend, but not all at once maybe between me and PJ we can get everyone out there. Simon L

  15. Charlie, I would be glad of a trip out on sunday for the cod, if thats what gives weather-wise, after last weekends fish drought and cancelled comp, it would be nice. Can't do saturday, working. let me know or give me a buzz. thanks Simon L
  16. Dismayed is the only way to describe my reaction when Gordon phoned me late on Saturday night, i couldn't believe they were going to cancel it on the forecasts given it was like a millpond out in the channel all weekend, and as it happened on the sunday as well. I personally think that there may have been a different agenda at play here as it was perfectly fishable in my opinion, but what can i say, still dismayed!!!!! We are going to change the name of the caravan to "What-Wind"!! The view off the cliffs the evening before, same the morning after. Simon L

  24. Terry thanks, i'll be in touch. PJ, whenever you are ready!! I've got a few off the wall ideas spinning round in my head of what to do with it, if they pan out i'll post up the results, but i'll see if my theories work first to save face. Simon L
  25. I know most of you will be hung-over after Saturday night But if anyone wants a ride out, i'll be heading out from Lymington at about 08:00, if weather permits plan is to dash out to a wreck for the AM and to tackle the bream inshore in the PM, really big bucket of groundbait being frozen into blocks as we speak, so if it looks too lumpy will spend all day targetting the bream. Give me a call on 07973 321401 if interested? Simon L
