Picture of Dan's Undulate Ray attached. I had a great time fishing on Alfresco. Now have the dubious pleasure of catching the first Dogfish to the boat and first Conger ( only just after persuading Dan to net my one rather than Charlie's ). Dan's Undulate Ray was the best fish of the day. Great boat and seemed deceptively slow steaming back from the mark until we went back out onto the deck in the harbour. I am sure there is going to be plenty of competition for those specimen fish in the forthcoming season.

Alun, Glad the comp went well for you. Unfortunately, I couldn't fish the comp today as had to do my Christmas visiting to Southend. 3 1/2 hours drive with all the fog and coming back was no better. I had Janski II booked in on Saturday ( called me on the phone ). How did the others do ?

Deepsea Forum The SSFC decided to debate the 12m byelaw before the proper meeting took place (despite being on the agenda) When the item came up, Mr Carrier said that the issue would be discussed at the joint SSFC meeting which is to take place at the Council Offices at Lyndhurst on 17th January 2008. I guess they felt that boatmen who could afford boats over 12m can afford not to go to work! 13 boatmen attended the meeting and it seemed to give the committee great satisfaction that we all turned up for nothing! Only one member of the Committee would speak to us... we were blanked by the rest...not even any eye contact. I'm sorry to say this but I think they don't want to listen to us. One bit of good news...CFO Mr Carrier has agreed to meet a couple of us from the W&PLSA and the PBA tommorrow (Friday) Will post more after that.

( Preferably someone who can book me in at Poole en-route to Lymington for a Needles cod and quick return to Mariner for weigh in once huge cod is caught ! but not a pre-requisite as they say - beggars can't be choosers ).

lol - Know the feeling Duncan. My crew member also caught the solitary fish on Neo and it was that small we forgot to take a picture of it ( 1lb ).

Don't forget that next Sunday is the Christmas Fayre Flounder Competition and there is a prize of a hamper for the winner ( I think this is the case re prize ? ). Rob is banned from fishing this event ( only kidding )
