  1. Local TV forecast has N veering NE later. Windguru appears to match the Metcheck ( and TV ) forecast.
  2. Had my day off one day too early by the looks of it Well done and gives us a spur for Sunday. BTW: Sea state is much smoother than on Thursday as well.
  3. Thanks for the reminder Dave, I had totally forgotten about that feature.
  4. 2000 man hours is 2 people for 6 months. Pretty impressive.
  5. Going for Thursday ( returning in time for the club meeting ). Mark B crewing and I think Les L is coming along and has space for crew. Prob, something like 7:15 ish launch
  6. Does anyone know how Lepe is fishing at the moment? I will probably be taking my friend and his son out on Wed or Thurs and looking to fish either the Needles ( car park ) if calm or backup plan to fish Lepe if lumpy out.
  7. Might be up for a Wed trip as I have promised to take my friend and his son fishing. Probably see you out there ( hopefully )
  8. Rob, You catch reports pages are superb.

    Bass Mls

That decision demonstrates the lobbying power of the commercial fishing lobby. It is flawed. In one statement it states Bass stocks are high and being fished sustainably. In the next statement "I could not justify introducing a measure which would have had such an impact on those fishermen given the current pressures they face" What pressures ? and then a study which assumes all discards will die is used to show how the MLS wouldn't work. Why would there be so many bass discarded - the net size would be larger. Still, I am sure they will not be happy until the bass fishing is at a similar level to the Plaice and Cod fishing. At that stage I shall no longer be contributing to the governments revenue as it will be pointless owning and running a boat and they can kiss my vote goodbye. ( Not to say it would be any different under any other government ) I hope you all write to your MP's and let them know what you think. If every angler does this then maybe things might be different.
  10. There is no club record for edible crab and personally, I think we should leave it that way as after all they would surely not count as they would all be foul hooked
  11. Indeed - sounds like you had a really good day.

That is probably because you are posting something other than a ".jpg" file ?
  17. Not able to make a mid-week comp unfortunately I am, however, intending to fish the Lymington Open Cod Comp on the 4th November ( I am assuming this is a "bring your own boat" comp ? ). Hoping to persuade PJ to crew for me.

Either reduce the files in size and/or open in mspaint and then save as jpg. I found some jpg files straight from the camera are not handled by the website buit work fine if resaved using mspaint. File size is also important ( as in around 100kB max recommended )
  19. The link worked for me.
  20. 1st Alun Jones 94 points 2nd Bill Smith 90 points 3rd Dave Samuel 76 points 4th Neal Sturt 73 points 5th Paul Frey 64 points 6th Mike Fox 42 points 7th Gordon Holt 40 points 8th Dean Burt 40 points 9th John Young 33 points 10th Pete Gasson 16 points 11th Paul Dore 10 points 12th George Fox 5 points This comp is the last of the series of 5 points comps with the best 4 counting ( At least that is my understanding ). I can report that 1 person reported fish in all 5 comps. 1 person reported fish in 4 comps. 3 people reported fish in 3 comps. 9 people reported fish in 2 comps. 22 people reported fish in 1 comp. Suffice to say the 1st,2nd and 3rd place overall went to the people who had fished 5 comps,4 comps and 3 comps. Who they are, I shall leave to announce at the Dinner Dance next year. Comp 1 - Specimen had 16 fish reported Comp 2 - Species had 10 reports Comp 3 - Bass had 11 fish reported Comp 4 - Lure Only had 9 fish reported Comp 5 - Species had 12 reports
  21. Its a shame actually, as prior to the move to the new server I could easily embed video within a forum page. Much more difficult now though unfortunately.
  22. Very similar forecast to Windguru's - wave heights are almost identical. I note that their ( windfinder's ) wind speeds are consistently higher than windguru's and also their forecast for the coming weekend is much worst than windguru's.

  24. Lovely looking boat Alan and glad to see you had a relatively uneventful trip.
  25. I have now seen that Dean treats his reels similarily to mine ! and he swears by the Penns. So I am tempted to give one of these a go next to see how long it will last. ( Also noted that Tom and Paul J rate them highly ).
