  1. Thanks Charlie, I am just realising that there is a competition imminent, so records to be kept etc. etc. A few fish recorded today ( none by phone yet ).
  2. Lovely bream for Paul there, that is the same size as the one I won the 48hr comp with last year. We had no sign of bream today. Was hoping they would come on the feed during the ebb but nothing showing. Had a nice 5lb 8oz bass today though.
  3. Either use the form on this website or alternatively call me at home or on my mobile ( number is published in the members list ). If you havent got my number then drop me a PM and I will send it to you. So far there has been only 2 fish recorded over the weekend by phone ( same person for both ) and 2 by web site ( Coddy's Undulate Ray and my tiddler of a bass ). I will record information from written catch reports if I see them, however, this is NOT GUARANTEED and I will not be responsible if a fish is not recorded using the web or phone ( or at the next club meeting after capture )
  4. then a Turbot of 7lb 9oz
  5. Not bad fishing for Nipper this morning. First a cod of 13lb 4oz
  6. Dave, I just got a car battery from the auto shop which is on the road heading into highcliffe. Cheap car battery does the trick. ( I actually got a slightly more expensive one to save on the size ). For our purposes I dont buy all this "leisure battery" stuff. In fact I had two batteries on my boat one was a marine leisure battery, the other a bog standard car battery. No prizes for guessing which one went the same way as your battery !
  7. Lovely fish Rupert and one to challenge for fish of the month as well. We had the pleasure of watching all the other boats land the bream ( no groundbait onboard though, so trying again later today ). Dont forget to report the catches using the catch report form.
  8. and Bob forgot to mention the 9 plaice on the boat ( had me and PJ convinced - ). Still as they say, he who laughs last laughs loudest and in this case its not me but another member caught a 13lb 4oz cod whilst fishing on the Shambles around an hour ago.......
  9. Picture of Mike Norman's 3lb 8oz Black Bream caught on Janski II
  10. Nice fish Dave and catch report logged. we tried for the bream yesterday to no avail. Had a string of dogs and I had a 2lb 8oz bass that went like an express train at first in the tide. Lovely day to be out though. Saw Aquafresh and Manatee out as well and they had bream.
  11. I await the catch reports ( or were they outside club waters ).
  12. Dom, We are off out from Wick on Friday. Will let you know how we get on. ( Very likely to be fishing the areas you mention .... )

    Ice Machine

Tomo, Many thanks for the offer. I could be taking you up on that. Alun J has offered some ice as well. I am tempted by a machine myself ( would keep Helen happy in the summer as well ). Are they expensive to buy ?

  15. Les, Planning on a Wick launch in Neo on Friday - probably around 8 AM ish ( LW is at 7:06 at the entrance ).

    Ice Machine

Seeing the posts regarding Adam's new cool box, I was wondering what people do for Ice. Considering an ice making machine so I can keep my fish catch cold. Currently I use those freezer ice packs which you freeze before use. A machine to make ice and crush it would be cool ( excuse the pun ).
  17. Ditto here regarding Monday.
  18. Didn't need to do much of that last Friday Les
  19. Adam, Thanks for the links ( I knew they were there somewhere ). I am considering one of the small tube ones. It was a result of the recent SeaCheck that made me think. Mike pointed out that it was a SOLAS Chapter V requirement and a requirement on boats our size to have one fitted. The cynical part of me was not totally convinced, so I did some searching. Mike is quite correct I have to say. Link below - check out regulation 19 and the comment "All ships <150gt to carry radar reflector where practicable" More expense I think but at least I should be seen by that big tanker in the fog Annex 2 of Solas V
  20. Interesting article here regarding the fitting of radar reflectors. It is actually a SOLAS Chapter V recommendation Radar Reflectors Does anyone have one fitted and maybe we could get a radar equipped boat in our club to test the different ones. Any recommendations.
  21. Unfortunately, I am on-call from Friday to Sunday, so will be taking Neo out on the Friday from Christchurch as I can get back in if needed. Probably see if the bream are showing.
