  1. Very smart looking Adam.
  2. Interesting seeing an article on stress cracks. Now Neo is sitting on her new trailer I can see all the chips and chunks which the last 3 years of use have inflicted to her hull. One long scrape where the edge of a keel roller had gouged a 2 foot line of gel coat out Worst, I had two cracks with holes in the gelcoat towards the front which I think were caused by the old rollers on the front of my old trailer, where she was not sitting on the keel rollers properly. Either that or I had managed to do it with the new trailer ( worrying ! ). Filled both these using Mike's method - can't be bothered to do the hard part yet ( well it is on the bottom of the boat after all ) The strakes each side of the bottom of the hull are also prone to being chipped.

    Wanted

Agreed how helpful Quay West Marine were. I went down there on Friday to cash in my November Comp prize and now have a bilge pump and nice shiny prop bag ( plus 4 screws for the rail ). I was going to get some cheap pipe for the bilge pump but another club member had nipped in earlier and bought all the cheap stuff

    Swap

Dan, Would be happy to take a look at your bilge pump for you if you like. Friday PM suit you ?
  7. Images from previous advert last year attached ....
  8. Not seen this problem before - I am on the case .... Have 20 posts for now ! OK - worked it out. Posts in the "welcome" forum do not increase your post count. Any other area will though. One problem I personally have with fishing in Iceland is their stance in hunting whales. Elsewhere on this site there is a traumatic video of dolphins being slaughtered. Personally, I cannot see much difference between that and hunting whales. Comments ?
  9. Rich, I beg to differ regarding this. Triangulation is quite possible using a normal mobile phone. I actually paid to have one of mine tracked and works very well if in range of 2 masts and incredibly well when more can be seen, although it does still try to work when a single mast can be seen but put me 5 miles out in the Solent ( when at work ) !
  10. Gordon, No need - It's been sold Much impressed with Boats and Outboards, I could have sold it 3 or 4 times.

    News Reports

Two kids are playing football in a park in Norwood. Suddenly one of them is attacked by a Rottweiler which clamps its mouth around the kids neck. The other kid, seeing the danger his pal is in, picks up one of the sticks they were using as a goal post, puts it through the dogs collar, and using all his strength twists it until the dogs neck breaks and his friend is saved. This is all seen by a South London Press reporter who sees a possible national headline in the incident, and goes over to the kids. "That was really heroic," he says, "I can see it now 'Heroic Palace fan risks life to save best friend'." "But I don't follow Palace," says the kid. "Ok, how about 'Super Dulwich Hamlet fan fights off rabid Rottweiler to save his Palace pal'?" says the reporter. "But I don't follow Dulwich Hamlet either," says the kid. "Well who do you support?" asks the reporter . "Liverpool" replies the boy. "Even better!" exclaims the reporter, "Scouse b*stard murders family pet."

    Trailer Wanted

From Oceantrail by any chance ?
  13. Very nice looking boat Paul. My friend has an older Orkney 23 and I am sure you will be well pleased with her. I have been tempted by the 590 still ....

    New Trailer

60 on the motorway and 50 on single lane roads. Kam is obviously referring to another country. Surely, no-one would tow over 60 MPH in the UK

    New Trailer

I too was thinking that Alun's 45 KG was a little light as usually around 75 KG is recommended. I haven't weighed the noseweight since I adjusted the axle but suspect it is still too much. Is 75 KG easy to lift ?
  16. Adam, Thanks for the advice, I have actually got the trailer stored with the handbrake off now for exactly the reasons you mentioned ( I was pondering whether this was a good idea or not and glad that you have confirmed this ). The trailer was sitting like that in the photo as I was in a "manoeuvre trailers around the drive" mode and didnt want it rolling away at the time
  17. The Bramber has sealed bearings also ( Alko ones - I think that is the name of them ). I have decided to sell the old trailer at a lower price as it is cluttering the drive, so it is now available for

    New Trailer

Alun, Quite - I still have too much weight under the jockey wheel ( can only just lift it now ), so axle needs moving forward some more ( I can't push boat any further back ). Some "trimming" of the brake cables needed I think.
  19. A lunar eclipse can be seen at the moment - apparently will be full eclipse in next hour or so.

    New Trailer

Good strong steps although standing on top of the wheel arch itself doesn't look strong enough.
