  1. yea but just think of all the decisions you won't have to make...........dashing around to make the most of the tide and marks; stay out fishing or head in for a shower and a(nother) cold beer.......... breakfast before we head out or forget it and just live on stella
  2. damm - don't tell Mark there are kebabs there or he will be over catching all the big brill! I sort of feel that whilst Weymouth and kebabs go together St PP is more of a crab and Chablis place - especially given the sunshine promised for the weekend!
  3. for you and Mark......I don't think kebabs are available wherer Awol and Phaeton are heading..................
  4. actually I think it may well be a rare undulatedhound....................
  5. and again - without.................
  6. I'll log that as plan B Mark but looking at the forecast plan A is looking remarkably solid! not sure about the kebab though!!!
  7. I think a fish of more than 28lb 2 oz would have broken the club smoothound record fairly obviously................ Overall one to be agreed by the clubs committee surely - that's what they are there for!
  8. firstly Mike Fox's recomedations are simple, straight forward, and will do the job round our waters. They will handle downtiding brilliantly and cover for the odd wrecking trip where you are working lures etc Add a couple of light rods in the 12lb class for wrasse, bass, mullet etc as well as the lighter end of the wreck/lure scene and you have what you need............after that it's like shoes I seem to have 22 rods at the moment! However quality does show and I find myself ignoring otherwise competent gear when I find a rod I really like................don't set out looking for quantity. Finally I have a number of uptiders but simply don't use them that much in our waters.....the only shallow waters I fish have to much rocky stuff around to lay the line safely. Downtiding isn't just about dropping a big weight over the back of the boat.....
  9. don't shooot the messenger! have a look back on the grey mullet threads for more info.............that's all I am suggesting.
  10. nice catch Mike - and Newton sounded great! think we treat yhe smoothies the same - like the grey mullet - for records..............
  11. that would explain the servers attitude to my mail program then........... same again for me please Paul - look forward to the details in due course so I can configure pop3 Duncan
  12. looks a very nice JD indeed I had one in the swash channel 2 years ago when drifting for plaice but not that size!
  13. well Dave and I would likr to offically book in now - on the basis we will fish somehow/somwhere. we owe 10 and will settle somehow
  14. thanks for the pm increase - usefull phaeton@pbsbac.co.uk please...................
  15. a cunning plan and a pissed of fishing partner resulted in elaborate steps to aquire a new transducer for my Lowrance unit to be attached to the transom. the transducer is the large DF skimmer unit and despite knowing I actually have one, brand new with screws in a plastic bag can I find it???????? before I charge off to the 'professionals' does anyone happen to have onelying around where, for example, they have mounted the thing inside the hull as I did with the other one............... cheers in anticipation
  16. lilo's fine - just make sure you have a seperate pillow section as a safety precaution................. nice catch Tom - boating can be cheap and fun!
