    Alderney Ring

Hi i'm having a heavy duty alderney ring made up as well as a s/s basket thingy to put my coolbox in on the bathing deck. This will free up loads of space . Luckily i mentioned it whilst talking to an old friend whom i didn't realise is part owner of a fabrication company and he will even deliver the bits when he passes my house........BRILLIANT. May use his company to beef up the bow roller as he is fairly local to me but i'll probably do this when the weather is not so good, so hopefully a long way off. Jas

  4. Hi Guys, I'm hoping to get out this weekend from weymouth and am looking for crew to help me understand how to use all the gadgets correctly etc. I am still awaiting some anchor warp and an alderney ring and buoy and i have not got a coolbox to store the fish, so really i am at present limited to drift fishing unless someone has the items required. I am at the meeting tonight or pm /call on 07974753359. CHEERS JAS

  18. Thankyou Bob and Jimbo for doing an excellent job on my maiden voyage. Well i was very happy not to blank and hopefully this is a good sign for the future. I learnt a hell of alot from Bob F but unfortunately for me alot of it went in on ear and out the other, i put it down to nervous excitement. So apologies now Bob you'll have to come out again soon ..........PLEASE....... It's quite amazing how different it was for me from crewing for Bob where i didnt really have to take too much notice of much and then have Bob crew for me and realise how much more i had take into consideration. This was great because i was learning as we were going along ,but exhausting too, as i found out the next day. Well we met up with Adam and Gordon at the hood and we all agreed we had an excellent day especially Adam, so i tried to blag a pollock or two from him but he wouldn't have any of it..... I don't know how how he can eat so many. So the day left Bob , Jimbo, and myself to go home with our tail between our legs and not able to put food on the table ........But there's always next time and i can't wait..... Thanks Guys Jas
  19. Nice bit of kit Adam. Just bought a 100ltr igloo jobbie for

    Anchor warp help

Hi Guys, sorry to change the subject but i need some advice about my windless, It appears that i have 25 metres of chain and 10 metres of rope but i have read somewhere that i need to play out between 3-5 times the depth i will be fishing in. So my question is do i replace what i have or do i buy another anchor with longer rope and stow on board ? Cheers Guys Jas
  25. Thanks Charlie. I certainly will be taking it slowly mate and will be asking for the help and advice of the more experienced club members to come out with me and show me the way.. I did have a moment of bravery today and actually started her up . Tomorrows task is to make a cup of tea whilst listening to the vhf.........All exciting stuff ......yawn....yawn, and also hopefully meet up with the previous owner to go through the things i don't understand....so could be there some time. Cheers Jas
