  1. Rob I don't think there is a duffer in any of the mainstream makes. I guess whatever you decide on will make you smile Best of luck with your purchase Martin
  2. I once had a sea trial on a Trophy 2150? with a 150hp Verado on the back. All I can say is it takes a lot to make me smile but I had a grin from one ear to the other that day. The engine is awesome however I wouldn't know about longevity or running costs though Martin
  3. We went to one of the offshore banks but its was not very successful for us. I had a 10lb 120z blonde, Both Rory and Tony had much smaller ones I'll let them post the weights. We did have a little flurry of tope and dogfish but that aside a very quite day Martin

  10. Looking at the last 3 piccys of lucky I don't think he will be for much longer Seriously though looks like he might be a liability get him to join another club, Only joking, to speed up the learning curve he really should join a club of like minded souls Martin
  11. Dave Are are you all screwed up Sorry no other suggestion but couldn't resist a pop Martin
  12. Poole canoes as said above are not really suitable for outside the harbour although I used to have an 18 footer and we used to take it out as far as Poole Patch. The thing to watch with them is 1 the free board as most have very low free board and 2 following seas (read as ripples) as anything from the rear will bury the nose. If you are only going to use it in the harbour then they are more than suitable especially for getting into the shallows after flounder and the like. For anything else there are far more suitable angling boats out there that are not to expensive Martin
  13. Personally I don't blame either the commercials or RSA's for the demise of fish we are imo innocent victims of others incompetence. I blame the common fisheries policy and those that purport to know whats in our and the fish stocks best interest. They cocked it up and now expect everyone else to pick up the pieces yet again with more half baked ideas. They have been given answers to problems but they will not listen to those that are in the know. They are like children and have to make their own mistakes but at what cost! Martin
  14. Ask Defra I believe they undertook a survey almost the same as the one proposed here 4/5 years ago so where is that information. Also where is the information more recently collected by finding sanctuary to help them identify where mcz''s were to be located. I am not against conservation in fact far from it. I am respectful of the fish I catch and only take fish for my own needs. I am though very cynical of those on the gravy train. So far I have not seen anything that would lead me to believe that this survey would not be used to the detriment of anglers. I believe it is the EU that have told HM guv & co to provide this info to help formulate policy or they will be heavily fined so read into that what you will. Everything written may not be as it at first seems, they need us to fill in the gaps or they (read as us) get another EU slap. Also agree with Peter 100% Martin PS glad I'm going on me hols soon as I can't stand politics

    Only 98

This was taken from the Times newspaper. A 98 year old woman in the UK wrote this to her bank. The bank manager thought it amusing enough to have it published in the Times. Dear Sir, I am writing to thank you for bouncing my cheque with which I endeavoured to pay my plumber last month. By my calculations, three nanoseconds must have elapsed between his presenting the cheque and the arrival in my account of the funds needed to honour it. I refer, of course, to the automatic monthly deposit of my Pension, an arrangement, which, I admit, has been in place for only thirty eight years. You are to be commended for seizing that brief window of opportunity, and also for debiting my account

  17. No I will not! Reason being I do not wish to give the authorities any help in legislating against sea anglers. My view may not be the correct one but when has any participation by sea anglers in anything official had a good outcome for us Our catch rate compared to commercials is minuscule and that is fact so what benefits are there for us in collaborating with officialdom? I would suggest none, they are after gathering ammo to use against us. As I see it this exercise is worse than useless and yet another waste of tax payers money. Why won't they use our money to create wealth instead of wasting it on useless exercises. Surely the only people in favour of these "initiatives" are those that take a wage from them. What will they find to waste our money on next Martin BTW that's after one glass of red just wait until I have finished the bottle, both barrels waiting
  18. And from me thanks to all that offered it is really appreciated Martin

  22. A lady went into the pharmacy, walked up to the pharmacist, looked straight into his eyes, and said, "I would like to buy some cyanide." The pharmacist asked,"Why?" The lady replied, "I need it to poison my husband. The pharmacist said, "Lord have mercy! that's against the law! Absolutely not!" The lady reached into her purse and pulled out a picture of her husband in bed with the pharmacist's wife. The pharmacist looked at the picture and replied, "You didn't tell me you had a prescription.
