  4. Now what are we going to eat at the Barbe FWIW I also had a crap day. Went to Makro to land a load of chicken, burgers sausages and Pork belly for the ribs and belly pork along with chocolate cake lime cheese cake and several other culinary delights but alas it was really hard going with hardly any stock jumping in the trolley. Still I am undeterred will return tomorrow for another drift through the aisles Martin

  16. Agread on the stainless hooks I haven't used them for about 15 years or so Martin
  17. Can't see the problem Graham either the fish snaps or bites you off then swims around with a hook with either a length wire or mono attached, the hook will eventually fall out along with whatever is attached to it. Martin

  23. I would have either 25 or 30lb leader with 30lb braid for general fishing. Hook lengths would be 20-25lb amnesia/flouro or similar for pollock/cod 20lb amnesia/flouro or similar or turbot etc. Your 150lb will be fine for tope but although I would use around 60/80lb for that with maybe a short piece of wire if expecting larger specimens although I don't normally bother with the wire. Absolutely Charlie If anyone wants to change the club competition rules (or any other rules) they can discuss here, at a meeting and if they still want to proceed can put forward a proposal to the AGM Committee are only in posts to do the members bidding, that said they are all entitled to a view although the chairman should not be to vociferous (is that a word or did I just make it up ) Martin
