  1. Nice to hear the end story and good on Alun for helping out. Did you mention the club to Pete? and did he offer discount? Re Stack and store, it certainly saves a load of grief with maintenance and saves a bit in fuel but does end those last minute night forays. Everything has to be planned in advance to ensure the boat is in the drink. That said I love it (sort of) on dry stack. Oh you will not enjoy the cost of dry stack compared to swinging mooring Every option in boating has its pluses and minuses Martin
  2. Wimp Seriously though if your thinking of DIY then talk to Tony Deavin. He has just fitted one on his boat himself so has a little knowledge....yes I do know that a little knowledge can be dangerous Martin
  3. Dennis sorry to here of your woes At least you are in good hands at Salterns. One of the engineers there (Martin) has worked on AWOL several times and I have nothing but praise for him his knowledge and his skills Martin
  4. Awol with Dean, Tony and Martin
  5. Dave To make a decision as to which prop is best you will need a rev counter. You will also need to know what the manufacturer specifies as max revs. Fit a prop to the engine and load the boat with your normal traveling weight. Now try it and see what speed and revs you achieve with each prop. You are looking to get as near to the manufacturers recommended rev range without going over. Which ever prop does this is the correct one...........maybe. If it over revs you could cook the engine if you get nowhere near the rev range you will be straining the engine. Hope that helps Martin
