  1. Glad you had a good day Kevin, did you catch? Martin
  2. I'm hopefully just cruising this weekend for a weekend away to Cowes however if I were fishing would probably try a couple of marks for bream. But then who care so long as its good weather and were on the water Martin
  3. Shoreside Marine Services Phone Dan for information about his Marine engine servicing and other related services Phone 01202 671829 Mobile 07879 994 324 http://shoresidemarine.co.uk
  4. The bow on a warrior 165 is tiny so why would you want to go up there, it's not save and I for 1 wouldn't advise it. Your anchor can be rigged to allow working from the cockpit so from a fishing perspective absolutely no need to go up front. Other 165 owners will be along on the next bus to advise how to rig your boat Martin
  5. assuming there is not to much tide a 4hp will push you along slowly ie 4knots ish Martin
  6. As there are no filling stations out on the briney and whatever your boat may use take note of the golden rule: Use one thrid going, one third coming home, with one third reserve. If you try and keep to the above you should never find yourself running out of fuel. Martin
  7. Dave your status in the forum has now been upgraded to that of Club member Lots of back slappin going on here but PBSBAC is very genuinely one of if not the best small boat A/C club on the south coast and it definitely has the friendliest membership. Welcome and enjoy Martin
  8. Good steer from Bob Pete will be in the know Martin
  9. Hi Eggie and welcome to PBSBAC proper You will not regret joining so long as you keep asking. Information will flow your way almost freely The general membership are so helpful. Re: how long does it take for membership pack. This may take a day or 2 as all the admin is done manually by volunteers. You see we don't want spammers joining our forum or club so all applications are manually vetted. We received you payment via paypal so I have updated your status in the forum so you can now see all the club minutes of meeting (this could be useful to you as you live out of Town) plus loads of other stuff. All sensitive questions and answers can be seen or gleaned in there. Enjoy your membership Martin
  10. Bob didn't you know he's a star
  11. Be careful, be good, be safe in reverse order Martin
  12. Paul Perhaps we (or should I say you) could embed the video in our join her/membership section? Martin
  13. Hi Mark and welcome to our clubs forum We have had a warrior 165 and a Raider 16 26 miles offshore ie fishing mid channel. In the right weather you will be the restricting factor not the boat. I guess what I mean is on the right day you can go as far as you feel comfortable with. Best way to learn is firstly join the club proper. There are other areas of this site that ordinary forum members can't see. Secondly go out with some other members on their boats. This is the speedy route to learning boatman ship and fishing skills Re: the week end. Weather doesn't look to promising and the fishing is still pants at the mo Martin
  14. Happy Birthday Tony. Your now officially older than me See you Thursday Martin
  15. Alun your a star What a proffessionally put together film and 2 mentions for the club They couldn't have had a better member to take part, well done Martin
  16. One things for sure, commercial fishermen do not need the hobby angler to tell him where the fish are. They are far more experienced and well informed than we are, they have to be they earn a living from it. Regarding other nets, anyone can set nets so long as its spoils are for their own consumption. Selling fish without a commercial licence is illegal and if you know of anyone doing this then report them to Southern Sea Fisheries HERE. This is the body that is supposed to police these issues. However with only 5 officers for the whole of our area they are pretty much up against it Martin
  17. Trevor Phone me Martin
  18. Ben I have just updated your status on the forum to that of club member. You will now have full access to all areas and other members will now know you have joined. You threw us by joining with your partners email address Anyhow all sorted now and welcome to the club Re the fishing, it will pick up in about 2 or three weeks time. When it does you would be more than welcome to come out on AWOL for a session. Learn some bits and pinch some marks. As said above watch the boat buddy section Martin

Guilty as charged me lud Help seemed a better category cause Jim needs it hu hum help that is Martin
  20. Yep but if you have autopilot you may already have a fluxgete and if its a raymarine the computa thingy can give the relevant info.......I think Martin
  21. Oli I am thinking the same as you in as much as I now feel I want no need radar. Unfortunately for me I have spent out a bucket load of cash on the boat both this and last year so no budget for electronics yet I am planning however to have a full replacement set of electronics next year that will probably be Raymarine unless anyone convinces me different Martin
  22. Absolutely brilliant If you do read it then go to the questions and answers they are funnier than the ad init Martin
  23. Good luck with the sea trial not that you will need it So got your name down for Alderney? Martin
  24. 15 miles offshore is plenty for a small boat and this range will give you loads of options with all species available. However I would seriously consider whether you have the experience to go that far offshore without suitable training/experience. If as you say you have a lot to learn then 15 miles offshore is not really the place to learn It can be very lonely out there! Livebaiting for bass is a favoured method of a lot of our members and when you know where and how to fish can give excellent results. Conger are certainly available in the range you specify. Any broken ground will give up a few and most wrecks will give you slimy things to play with. The first species you might want to consider are Bream. These will be coming on stream in hopefully the next 3 of 4 weeks. Keep watching the reports and asking questions. Becoming a fully paid up member will give you access to more areas on the forum and attending meetings as a guest or member will give you the opportunity to glean more info from the friendly crew Ever the salesman Martin
