  3. Welcome to PBSBAC Colin & Bobi I used to own a Hardy 17. Very competent boats, my lad and I had seven years of fun out of ours and took it all over the place. The main thing that gave us confidence to venture further afield though was this club Enjoy your boat and enjoy your membership Martin

    New game

Brian you've done it again, I'm so wound up at the truth of this game. So true yet so sad that we have muppets running the UK game. BTW British people need not bother to play as all GB nationals are excluded. Hang on a minute isn't that racism? oh yeah forgot the dogooders don't do good for ordinary tax paying reisdents and HM gov rob us blind to pay for.........what? Aaaaarrggghhhhh Martin
  9. Graham I have a Raymarine Sport Pilot fitted on AWOL. I was on the Beta tester list and had one trailed on AWOL from its inception. In the beginning the system didn
  10. Well done Alun not bad for mid feb Your report has brightened my otherwise boring day....working Martin
  11. Peter I believe you are a first class conservation officer representative of most views in the club and I applaud your commitment to the cause. Most club members are not vocal on here so sometimes what is discussed will not be the general consensus. You will tend to find that those that do make a lot of noise rarely deliver so we as anglers do need people like you to fight our corner. Please keep up the good work. Tom How can you judge an organization that has only been formed for just a couple of months? indeed how can they do anything other than fail if all anglers held your view. Surely you must give em a chance before making rash statements. Peter is 100% correct in his assumption that individuals will fall by the wayside, get fed up, lethargic or just lose interest in lobbying. When that happens us sea anglers as a whole will be left high and dry with a carp rod in hand wondering what to do with it oh and a nice boat to plant flowers in cause no one will want to buy angling boats if there aren

  15. I think Wessex Angling do crab but not 100% sure. Why do you want crab anyway? unless your after smoothies fish/squid baits are good here. If you are after smoothies then frozen hermits will be as or near as good as peelers and most tackle shops stock them Martin

    AIS

When delivering the infamous Troms Explorer cat to Norway with Tom we found the AIS sytem interfaced with the plotter invaluable. We could see all shipping movements and avoid problems. We never had the radar switched on once and could see all movements around us a bit like a space invader game, absolutely brilliant bit of kit especially at night. If I didn't have the current expense of engine overhaul I would be investing in a unit Martin

  20. It is not and will not be anything to do with the club Tom. As I understand it The Poole and District Sea Angling Assc have just asked for our views and input. I believe this is not even a proposal as yet. I personally would object on principle to bag limits unless commercial fishermen where also included within that. There are already rules to deal with RSA's that sell their catch it just needs proper policing. I feel a better way forward would be carcass tagging so each commercially caught fish can be traced from capture to table. That should make it easier to see where the fish are coming from and permit enforcement at point of sale, ie no tagg Mr. chef you
  21. I think a few people are missing the point here. Firstly if agreed it won't be a voluntary agreement. it will in fact be a local byelaw. That will meen it will be illegal for anybody to exceed the agreed quota/limit. 2ndly why should anglers have bag limits enforced on their catches when commercial fishermen can land as many as they like. Bass are not a quota species so why should we have limits imposed on us! Seems ridiculous to me that we are considering bag limits on what we catch when commercials who by default cause the most destruction to the species are left to do whatever they like I have nothing against fish limits but it must be seen to be equitable between both RSA's and commercials or it will be a total waste of time and do nothing but further the divide between anglers and fishermen. Martin
  22. Well done Charlie well worth the effort Martin
