YEEEESSSSSssssss the engine is in...the outdrive is on.....2 hours of Sea trials completed "Awols" a complete boat again aanndd I am going over to Alderney tomorrow buddying up with Duncan on the Phateon. Life is at last sweet again Martin

Well because of the weather the engine went in Tuesday and not Monday. PMS went to fit the outdrive today and couldn't get it all lined up After a few frantic phone calls we now have both Mermaid and PMS going to the boat tomorrow (Thursday) with Mermaid saying their engineer is instructed not to leave until its all fitted and working. Straight after that sea trials Talk about cutting it fine for Alderney Martin

Thanks guys for your good wishes they were very much appreciated. I would also like to thank all those that offered me places on their boats, this is truly a great and friendly club and I for one feel privileged to be a part of it. Mermaid emailed and phoned me today confirming the engine had indeed arrived and that fitting would be going ahead as planned on Monday PMS have confirmed that fitting of the outdrive will take place on Wednesday and sea trials are confirmed for Thursday To say I am getting excited is an understatement. This is the longest I have been boatless for about 20 years and it aint funny Also after missing one opportunity to go to Alderney this year (April bank hols) it looks like I may be able to make Friday's foray, fingers and everything else crossed Martin

Well the new engine left Austria on Monday and should arrive at Mermaid Marine on Friday. Mermaid has scheduled in Monday to fit the new engine and PMS are hopefully fitting the leg on Wednesday. If all this goes to plan then sea trials will take place on Thursday allowing us to depart for Alderney on Friday or maybe very early Saturday. Knowing my luck something is bound to go wrong

Engine was supposed to leave Austria today arriving UK Wednesday or Thursday but I have not yet had confirmation that the engine did leave. If the engine arrives this week and Mermaid fit promptly then PMS can refit the legg PDQ then we could still be on for the trip but it is still very much up in the air Martin
