Dan How big is your boat? what engine? anything uder 16' is pushing your luck although one member (Domino) does venture around there in a warrior 150 without to much trouble. When the tide is running the overfalls at Portland can be large even on a calm day. For safety if your unsure I would suggest you try and get a space crewing on a slightly larger boat But at the end of the day the decision lies with you Martin

Jack I am no computer wizard but I understand that cookies are a little item that helps sites you visit track your activity on their site. It is good practice to clear your cookies on a regular basis. To do this open internet explorer, at the top of the page click on tools, go to the bottom of the drop down list and click on internet options a new page will open. Jack On a boat your size I would imagine you have more than one battery. If you have 2 batteries there will also be a battery switch somewhere. Get into the habit of starting and running hte boat to the mark on all batteries then switch over to either battery one or battery two. This way you should always have a fully charged battery for starting your engine. I do this on Maverick and have never had a problem and I can't remember having to resort to using the fully charged battery even when running the deckwash/bait pump most of the day Martin

Went to Indespension in Poole today to see if the new trailer I ordered had come in. I must have had a premonition as it arrived this morning. I knew the new trailer was beefier than my old one but it looks absolutely huge in comparison. Everything is so much more substantial than the old Rapide trailer, the frame, rollers winch post, winch the lot. Just hope the van tows it ok. Will soon see as I intend to transfer the boat over on Saturday morning. Martin

This may well be a popular delicacy for those who have no scruples but the NFSA is totally against this practice which targets a species that is already under considerable threat, a position supported by environmentalists and the Shark Trust who have along with us raised the profile in the National Press and to Government to such an extent that the project has been abandoned. This proves the value of communication and the need for all sea angler to join together to protect the resources which are its lifeblood. Trevor That looks a very elaborate set up. Most of us just have a tank with an inlet and an overflow that has mesh over to stop the critters escaping. The inlet is conected to a pump which continuously delivers fresh seawater and the overflow disposes of excess water. With this set up you have constantly changing water which keeps it cool and well aerated Martin
