  1. Paul I used to have a Hardy 17' and this was rated for 40hp by the manufacurer. The chance of a 50hp with ptt came along and I like you was toying with the idea so I phoned the manufacturer and asked them. Their response was that every boat has to be rated when produced and in the case of the hardy 17' they chose 40hp although the transom would be plenty strong enough for a 50hp however they could not give this assurance in writing and that it was only advisory. The biggest problem as I see it would be insurance, in my case the insurance co. covered it so I would suggest you make a few phone calls Martin
  2. Duncan Wedger (Trevor) is a club member, I have just updated his forum status, sorry my fault. If anyone else notices their status on the forum is incorrect please let me know and I will do the necessary Martin

  9. Perhaps idiot is to strong, naive might be more appropriate Martin
  10. Mike Is the boat a 150 or 165? You may get away with a 40hp on a warrior 150 but would def be under powered on a 165. there are idiots in all walks of life Martin
  11. Dean has said he can now crew again but Kam you are still welcome to come out on Maverick with us Martin
  12. Kam No probs, if we cant get crew will talk to you tomorrow Martin

  15. Sam I believe they are or have stopped making the warrior 150. They make the 165 and the 175 with a replacement 195 due out now Martin
  16. Would agree with that one Mike, hes a right miserable git a resource of last resort Martin
  17. Dave I wll gladly do a write up on the 195 when time permits but remember they are no longer made, still might help those contemplating a second hand purchase. Martin
  18. Excellent news....bring em on....then put em back keeping just a few for the table Martin
  19. Terry Good to hear you are going to take part in our first species comp of the year. You need to either phone Charlie Chapman (fish recorder) or Peter Russel ( safety officer) the night before to ascertain that the comp is on and that you will be fishing or call up one of the above on channel 6 vhf on the morning of the comp to log in, Charlie = "Great White", Peter = "Whistler". If you do not log in your fish will not count and you would not be included in the comp. Fishing is a continous period of 7 hours of your choosing between the hours of 7.30 and 4.30pm so as you say not from launching time. Good luck and I look forward to seeing Fredor on the water Sunday Martin
  20. Hi Mike Firstly welcome back, good to hear your are well on the way to recovery. Also good news that you are considering purchasing a new toy The Warriors are good boats. The only boat in the club with a similar name to True Blue is Adams Blue Warrior that I believe is not for sale. The only boat I have known called True Blue is a Poole Charter boat which is definitely to big to launch and retrieve on your own There are several examples of Warriors, Alaska's etc in the club and a good idea might be to get an invite out on them to get a feel for the boats, bound to be better than having a quick buzz around a harbour where you might not get to appreciate all their little quirks. Anyhow I trust we can expect your usual witty contributions to resume forthwith....no excuses now Martin
  21. Well done Valerie for showing teh old fella up
  22. Hi Kam Have a goodun, take out that sweet honey and have fun .......no the boat you fool Martin
  23. Hi all Well its the first species comp of the year this Sunday(April 24th). Read up on the rules, times etc here Attached is the score sheet. Record your catch and add up you scores (cant seem to get it to do it automatically) then return to Charlie via email or snail mail ASAP. Charlie has to return the results to Boat Fishing Mag within a week so if your scores are not in they will not count! If you cannot open the sheet then phone your results to him and he will fill in the form for you. I Look forward to seeing you all on the water and wish you good luck Martin
  24. About time you registered. ..welcome to your clubs forum Martin
