  1. Adam Nicely written article, perhaps you could forward it to all the mags, including SAN Cheers Martin
  2. Yep I would agree with Adam an excellent day. After rising from the pit at around 4.30am bleary eyed and a little (lot) tired Dean and I finished loading our bits into the van then made our way for the 6am rendezvous at the Blandford tescos car park. We were soon on our way and made an uneventful trip to Burnham stopping only once for Neo to adjust his nuts On the beach it was quite a sight to see all the boats congregate for launching which the Burnham tractor soon made short work of. Most of the Burnham boys have 4 by 4's and launched their own boat, we waited for the tractor which soon had us all in the coffee coloured water. All our boats were buddied up with a Burnham boat and our buddy soon had us on a mark. The fish came from the first drop and consistently throughout the day. We lost count of the number of Thornies landed on Maverick but it was in the region of 40, we also had one strap conger a whiting and a few dogfish. Out of the Thornies only one was weighable in the competition and this came in at 11lb 1oz caught by Dean. We whizzed bach to the beach where we were promptly hauled out. After the weigh in and niceties we made our way on an uneventful trip back to Poole. I would like to also thank The Burnham club and also those boats and crew from PBSBAC who made the effort to support this comp. Thanks Also go to Bob for navigating us there and back and of course for Adams hard work arranging it. The return match is i believe at the 29th May when the Burnham boys come to our patch. It would be nice to have a good turnout from our club so please if you can, support it.. Martin
  3. Nice one Dave....summer bring it on
  4. Simon Nice to see a see report go on the forum even if they are reporting a blank. Reports good or bad gives us all the info we need to plan our fishing. Was you in your own boat or your dads? Martin
  5. LOL I found a brilliant picture of me and my buddies Martin
  6. Poole Dolphins Sea Angling club is holding an open bream comp on the 22nd May. I believe this is the same day as our club comp but there is no reason why you couldn't fish both comps together The poster advertising details of the comp is on our home page, take a look and support them if you can Attached is the entry form should you want to fill it in before hand
  7. Happy birthday Adam, have a good day Martin
  8. Bob (Indespension) F Nice new name it has a kind of ring to it, like no till ringing Was that a firm offer Bob? if so what kind/form of discount did they offer. Most local fishing/boating related businesses offer club members a discount without strings can we expect an extra special deal in return for a link? We have membership cards being printed as we speak so identification of members will not be a problem Martin
  9. There in a right state Martin
  10. Thanks for that Alex Thread now moved and under the misc section Martin
  11. Welcome Bill We are a freindly bunch and look forward to you participating on the best small boat forum on the south coast. Martin
  12. Yep we can now be ripped off in Poole
  13. Happy birthday you old wrinkly Hope you had a goodun Martin
  14. Bob What I did when I ran on a gps alone was to plot all the bouys leading into and up the harbour as waypoints, these will then show up on your screen and you can delete your plot lines without worrying. I also stored a route home from the fairway buoy which you could also use. Martin
  15. Pete came out on my boat once, armed with his secret numbers, we loaded them into my plotter and spent what seemed like an age looking and found.....nothing even tried his hand held and......nothing. A couple of weeks later came out and there he was sat on his secret mark about 4/5 hundred metres further south. Needless to say it aint secret any more Martin
  16. Firstly if you were fishing in Poole Harbour for Bass you may well have been breaking a byelaw which is policed by southern sea fisheries. You can find out which areas are included within the nursery area by reading this thread http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=1617&hl= The With/Bonwitco boats are sound little dingies (I used to have the 10') and you should be ok to fish all the areas you mention in a force 3 or less. You wouldnt want to go more than a mile or two off shore though. Bob's suggestion re xchurch harbour is an excellent idea but make sure you have your rod licence sorted. Martin
  17. Cheers Paul Martin
  18. Neil Have a word with your clubs Chairman Chris. He is also Chairman of the Poole and District Sea angling Association. If the association applies this might stand more of a chance as they represent around 20 local clubs. I take it you have Chris's contact details if not pm me and I'll send them over Martin
  19. Superb after sales service there Adam I have sent them an email from the club congratulating them Martin
