  5. When we went up last weekend we burnt 265 litres going but we were at one point over 26 miles offshore hopping wrecks then into Portland, following day out to the shambles drifting and back into Portland before refueling. Engine hours were approximately 10.5 hours so just over 24 litres per hour. On the way up we did not turn the engine off even when drifting so that time includes a length of time at tick over. Not sure what we used coming home most of which would have been cruising but will fuel up at the weekend and post here
  6. A4 Poster Bournemouth.pdf The Marine Conservation Society are doing a beach clean at Bournemouth Beach on Fri 2nd June 10am. Join us out and about in the fresh air to clean the shore. We're especially keen on encouraging those of 50 years & over to get involved, but all welcome of course. It’s a great way to keep active, meet like-minded people and to help both people and wildlife to enjoy and thrive on our beautiful coastline. All litter is recorded too, which helps to reduce problems by looking at where they are coming from. Please join in and share! For more details and to sign up click here: http://bit.ly/2rh6Ozu. See you at the seaside! A4 Poster Bournemouth.pdf

  9. We started our weekend from Poole by getting on the boat for 6:30 to make our way under the Poole bridge for the 7:30 lift. Out to the wrecks mid channel then work our way along the coast was the plan. The going out was a little choppier than I had hoped for but still manageable cruising at 16 knots. The wrecks didn't fish that well with only a few small cod and a reasonable Pollock caught on the first three wrecks. The wreck that fished the best was the 4th, a small Uboat where I had a 15lb 4oz cod some other small cod and a ling of 7 or so lbs. The last wreck we fished was massive and gave up absolutely zero fish. We reckon the tides were the culprit on this trip giving us to slow a drift for most of the day but hey thats fishing. One interesting thing was that HMS Duncan was live firing within 4 or 5 miles of us, we could see the splashes shells made in the water. Powerful bit of kit you wouldn't want to cross and glad they're on our side. Saturday saw a late start out to the bank where we fared no worse (or better) than anyone else. We ended up with a spotted ray, several dogs and 4 or 5 tubbies all on the small side. The weather then decided to get up a little so in early doors to get ready for the evenings bbq and drinks. Sunday was our last day which we again spent on the banks. The weather was much better than the saturday but the fishing decidedly quieter for us with only one tubby coming to the boat. We left around 2pm to head back to Poole. The crossing of Weymouth bay was uneventful with St Albans head being fairly docile. We stopped for a while around dancing ledge to see if the bream would come out to play but they wouldn't join in. We then had to go around Anvil Point where the race had us down to 8 knots at one point but nothing we couldn't handle. Then a skip across Swanage bay and back home to Poole. We were in doors by 6:30 totally cream crackered. Both Dean and I had a great time and met some great people, if timing and weather permit we will be back again

  14. Hi Mark and welcome to the club The first thing you did right was fish with Kenny as he is quite knowledgeable, the second thing was to join this club. There is so much knowledge in here, ask the right questions and you would struggle to go wrong Re Bream I would suggest if your boat is capable a session at Ballard would be a good shout or as Stuie says Poole Patch. If you are in the right area tomorrow there will be several other boats around Whatever you decide to do take care be safe and catch fish

Mal is away for a few days but he will help on his return or you could phone our preferred trainers "Power Boat training UK" based at Cobbs Quay. Ask about PBSBAC discounts and get your name on the vhf course as a standby to fill any unfilled spaces. That's how you will get the best possible price. Don't forget the club will also contribute a percentage up to £20 per year (I can't remember the percentages) Look at the historic threads in our training forum http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/ipb/forum/168-club-training/
