  4. Well today saw Madness come out of the drink for approximately 6 weeks I made sure I was at Cobbs to witness her coming out and take a look at any fouling. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the hull was clear of weed growth and barnacles with just a thin layer of slime. The iron work had a few tiny barnacles but nothing much. So this coming year I will be using SeaJet 033 Shogun antifoul paint again. The rear anodes were well worn although they still had some meat left on them. The propshaft anodes were all but gone in fact one had totally gone with the remaining one barely visible. Last year I had rope cutters fitted. These were fairly expensive to buy but after picking up my own anchor rope just before 2015 Christmas I thought they would be a good investment. The only minor problem I found after fitting them was a reduction in top speed by about a knot or so. Well having used them for about 10 months without incident I was thinking I may remove them, efficiency and all that however, when the boat came out there was the remnants of a rope on the port prop. I have not felt anything happen during the year and have no idea when we picked up the rope but one thing is for sure I am now glad I had the cutters fitted. Needless to say I shall be keeping the cutter on for the foreseeable future

  18. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL Thought I would shout it out so the older members could hear (read)
  19. Thanks Dave. As it would be difficult for the agencies to determine who is or not a commercial gatherer and from what you say above I would determine the limit is not voluntary but would be covered in the bye law. So if stopped with more than 3lb the excess will be taken. Are there any other penalties (over and above removing excess worms) for taking more than your fair share? Not trying to be pedantic but feel it is useful (a must) for those members that do collect bait for themselves and maybe friends that they know the current rules/regulations
  20. Dave that is a bit of a contradiction. If collecting ragworm is limited on a voluntary code agreement then it is not enforceable or is it regulated with a bye law ie not voluntary that you need a licence to collect over 3lb, Voluntary codes cannot be prosecuted a byelaw can. Not that I collect bait but it might be important for others to know the limits applied
  21. You can't beat that for red hot up to the minute info
  22. Haven't got my numbers book here but the centre of the Poole spoil grounds is 50 37 555 - 001 52 738. Don't fish here but look around the area for a bank or gully to fish. The general area should be shown on your plotter
  23. Sadler would be a good choice for a short day, expect whiting maybe conger and very possibly cod. I would give the Peveril Ledge area a miss but nearer to home the spoil grounds might be worth a try. Dolphin Bank is ok for whiting and cod
  24. Gregs winning fish of 18lb 6oz
