  2. UK hooks is where I got mine Charlie. Big swivels, stainless multi strand wire and the crimps. 50m for £7 or 10m for under £2 for 375lb R
  3. I don't use below 300 for blues and target porgies with 400. It's not about the strength but the ease to handle and hold angry fish with doing harm to yourself or the shark. R
  4. I thought Wessex had some rolls of heavy mono, if not perhaps I saw in xchurch angling R
  5. Assume you are going with a wire bite trace? R

    Happy Birthday Ian

    Enjoy! R
  7. I expect the fishing rights will be traded for something else - no way will the French and Spanish give that up. And all be have gained is the loss of say on what is allowed by EU fishing boats. Joy! R
  8. you lot probably ate more calorific energy that diesel energy burnt! maybe get some oars and rollocks, so nect time you can burn off at least part of your breakfast. Rob
  9. Seen this website: https://www.gonefishingboatclub.com/ Looks pretty much good value - esp if 2 guys pay as 1 user (apparently that is allowed). Boats in Hamble, Hayling and shortly Cobb's. £199 anytime £149 weekdays £269 summer £129 winter Booking is 24/7 and and members can only have so many dates in the calendar and once back you can book again. Not sure how that works but sounds sensible. R
  10. "thanks for your hostility last night" now now gents, play nicely!!! 😀 R
  11. I see the shore flounder open today had 39 fish and 1 10oz founder caught! Shameful!!! R
  12. What were the results from the RNLI comp? Well done to those who got out. I need something special to sit out in the cold for not many fish about. If it was non stop and could be reliable / consistent I expect many more would be found floundering about in the harbour. R

    WEATHER

BBC weather is shocking! Windguru for wind and rain then use the below to take an average. Windy Magic seaweed Ventusky Tide wise I use easy tide for the tide chart. R
  14. That fish was so focused that it just ignored the idiots, I mean divers . R
  15. Did you bother?
  16. Can the results from the Salterns weigh-in get phoned to the Cobbs one? Thus you can enter your fish easily in to both? R
  17. I think anything such as dredging is disruptive and destroys the plants and animals that colonise the area. Shame we lost the option of all those would be fish holding wind turbine bases, that might even have put paid to dredging locally. A response on no from the club is be happy with. Flattening out banks and more disturbance is not needed. Unless I am mistaken they don't give any areas back when clicking more - a question worth asking possibly. R

  21. Christchurch has a huge amount of fresh water and fishes when they are there! (The saltwater stays underneath I believe). Plus I have seen floundersfar up the itchen well above the tidal areas in pure freshwater. R
  22. good luck chaps!
  23. Saw this on Facebook, not a good show on the cod front: ‘ The Southsea Marina cod competition was attended by 102 anglers on 46 boats a great turnout considering , there was 5 Cod in total , The Winner of competition was Tim Andrews from SMAC with a cod of 9lb 2oz ‘ 1 cod per 10 boats 1 cod per 20 anglers Gone are the winter days when we could catch a couple or more per boat per day. R
  24. I saw a story, one boat hit a yacht, another sank whilst helping those friends, and they all got aboard the yacht to await rescue. Sounds like something from Mr Beam episode! Plonkers! R
