Hi Unless you weld a fixing point on the base of the anchor I don't think you will be able to set up a "tripping" method on a Danforth. However, what you could do is tie a small rope (8mm or less) to the base of the anchor and a bouy at the other end, if it becomes stuck all you have to do is motor to the bouy and lift it upfrom this point. your rope length needs to be long enough to allow for a various of depths. Re cable ties, I use x2 on a bruce look-a-like, for my Warrior 165 with a 5kg ancho with no problems. Coddy

The Raymarine A65 is proving to be very popular as are the Standard Horizon range. Worth checking JG Technologies web site for prices as they seem very keen. http://www.jgtech.co.uk/shop1.htm Hope this helps Coddy

Nice one Paul. Sounds better than walking around a trade show at the NEC which I was doing! Coddy

It will be interesting to see how wide and deep (far out) they build the slip as at L/W springs that whole area dries out. (I am not trying to be negative here, just a viewpoint) Also how wide the slip will be and what angle as there is quite a drop to the waters edge. One hopes that the slipway will not be littered with boat dingys so that others can not use the slipway. Biggest problem remains, however, is parking for car and trailer! Final thought, will this slipway make the thefts from this area increase due to easier access? Just a few thoughts Coddy

Unfortunately I will be unable to make it due to other commitments. Good luck to all who are going. Coddy

Got mine last month. Worth noting that you need to have that document on the craft at all times acording to the terms and conditions. I have taken a copy (both sides) and laminated the original to keep for use if asked and retained the copy at home. That way you have all the info should you need to get a copy or loose the first one! Coddy

Nice photo's Duncan, just in case anyone is going to send it a photo to the mags it must not show any signs of blood on the fish or fisherperson! That came from an offical mag phtographer Coddy

Hi Neil Welcome to the forum and hopefully the club. Re comps, if you look on the front page of the web site at the top right hand corner there is a small menu with competition Details, click on this link and it opens another page with dates and rules etc. Most of the club comps we run on trust, if anyone is deperate for a trophey I am sure we will all chip in 5p to buy them one. Obviously the open comps require fish in to be weighed as there are many good prizes to be won and the weigh in is normally at a set time and place advertised with the comp. Sounds like you got yourself a nice craft there and if you see any of the club pennants flying off any of the boats you might see give us a wave or even better obtain one from Wedger's loverly wife. (Careful what I say here ) Hope to see you on the water soon, let us know what your boats name is sometime so we can respond or give you a call on the vHF. Oh, if you are as mad as most of us you will fit in nicely. Coddy

Hi Pete I have a Mariner 60hp 4-stroke Had a similar problem to yourself and took it to Select Marine in Turks Lane who are Mariner/Mercury agents. To cut a long story short my problem was a blown gasket between the engine and gearbox, the gasket had blown between the exhaust and waterway allowing the water system to be pressurised by the exhaust. There is also an

As you say Tom, you had to be on the mark to find the fish and we too were out by a number of yards. As you say it was good to be out but unless you get amongst the fish it can get boring. Saw you shooting past towards Swanage when we were sitting near Mike's new purchase. You should have kept your shirt on and the sun might have burnt off all that mist! Coddy

Well Sammy has nothing of worth to report. Tom Pot Blenny, small pout and LSD's seemed to make up most of the day. Started at Christchurch Ledge and worked back to Poole with nothing worth talking about. Ended up parking near Mike (the mad version ) and admired his new craft! Going back into Poole it was like the world and his wife wanted to catch the bridge opening at 4.30, the RoRo ferry was on its way out and people scatted everywhere except a very small rib which travelled alongside the ferry but within 25mtrs of its side! Nice to be out but some good fish would have make it great. Coddy ps Good to hear you made it back ok Bob, I was listerning in on the radio and was thinking of you.

Following my post on the forum I sent an email to the Harbour Master, here is the reply I received today; Good morning Mr Samuel, Thank you for your query about the rate for Harbour Dues. I have checked the site and I have seen your problem. The confusion is due the application form giving rates with VAT inclusive, for convenience, but the published schedule of charges gives the rates as we calculate them, net, with no mention of VAT, hence the confusion. The rate on the application form is the correct rate (gross). Our rates are calculated net of VAT as we are, like any other business, merely tax collectors for the VAT and it does not signify in our profit and loss account. My apologies for the omission and thanks for drawing this to our attention. The site will be amended. Yours faithfully, I. Bishop Deputy Harbour Master Poole --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So the answer is lack of VAT on one set of prices. Adam I don't launch at Baiter any more and haven't for some time, I am fortunate to be able to launch from the RNLI college. free of charge. So have to pay for the Harbour Dues. Coddy

Hi all Having been put on gardening leave from work due to a change of jobs, they have recalled my car and now I don't have anything to tow the boat with until I start my new job! Does anyone have a VERY cheap tow car or anything that would pull a Warrior 165 around? Willing to buy, if cheap enough, or rent, beg, borrow but not steal. PM me if so. I expect to only need it for a month or two. Coddy

That wont help as it will eat all the ground bait! Boats get a little unstable with flapping wings Coddy
