  1. Mike I use 14mm (I think, perhaps a bit bigger) polystuff. Used for 3yrs so far without any problems. I have spliced an Galvanized Thimble to the end nearest the chain, then fitted a swivel shackle, then to the chain. As I don't have an bow anchor locker on my 165 I store my warp, anchor etc. in a cut down water tub in the back of the boat. The fact the warp floats has saved me on a number of times from getting the rope near the outboard leg when on a slack tide as I can keep an eye on where the rope is and the way the boat is turning. In fact I often pull in the slack warp and stow it back in the tub until the tide starts to run again. Just my thoughts for what's it worth. Coddy

    Male Patient

An old one.......but good A male patient is lying in bed in the hospital, wearing an oxygen mask over his mouth and nose, still heavily sedated from a difficult four hour, surgical procedure. A young, student nurse appears with orders to give him a partial sponge bath. Nurse", he mumbles, from behind the mask. "Are my testicles black?" Embarrassed, the young nurse replies, "I don't know, Sir. I'm only here to wash your upper body and feet." He struggles to ask again, "Nurse, are my testicles black?" Concerned that he may elevate his vitals from worry about his testicles, she overcomes her embarrassment and sheepishly pulls back the covers. She raises his gown, holds his penis in one hand and his testicles in the other, lifting and moving them around. Then, she takes a close look and says, "No, Sir, your testicles are not black" The man pulls off his oxygen mask, and says very slowly, "Thank you very much. That was wonderful, but, listen very, very closely... A r e - m y - t e s t - r e s u l t s - b a c k? Coddy

    Diy Prop Repair

Hi Bob Problem is how far out of balance is the prop? You could do a lot of damage to the gearbox/gear train if you use it. You have a super engine isn't it worth a few squid to get it checked? Coddy

I have to say a big thankyou to Reel Care in Southampton. I took a Penn lever drag reel won on ebay and my Penn 535 reel in for a service and check over. The 535 had it's counter balance weight stud broken off, by me, and I took them in on Friday am. I recieved a call this morning, Saturday, to say they were all done and ready. Total cost

  22. I would like to thank Nipper, Mark, for organising the meal and get together at the 'Shar of Persia' tonight. A great night out I think was had by all. I would also like to propose that Mark becomes the social secretary for the club if there is not one already as he seems to be able to organise a good night out for all. Perhaps at the next AGM. Thanks matey Coddy

    Blonde Joke?

A true report from the local newspaper. Linda Burnett, 23, a resident of San Diego, was visiting her in-laws and while she was there, she went out to a nearby supermarket to pick up some groceries. Several people noticed her sitting in her car with the windows rolled up and with her eyes closed, with both hands behind the back of her head. One customer who had been at the store for a while became concerned and walked over to the car. He noticed that Linda's eyes were now open, and she looked very strange. He asked her if she was okay, and Linda replied that she'd been shot in the back of the head, and had been holding her brains in for over an hour. The man called the paramedics, who broke into the car because the doors were locked and Linda refused to remove her hands from her head. When they finally got in, they found that Linda had a wad of bread dough on the back of her head. A Pillsbury biscuit canister had exploded from the heat, making a loud noise that sounded like a gunshot, and the wad of dough hit her in the back of her head. When she reached back to find out what it was, she felt the dough and thought it was her brains. She initially passed out, but quickly recovered and tried to hold her brains in for over an hour until someone noticed and came to her aid. Linda is a blonde, but I'm certain that's not relevant. 25. Hi All, A very good letter sent and published in January's BFM by our own Charlie of 'Great White' fame. Again it shows the club in good light as a conservation minded club and membership. Nice one Charlie Coddy
