Hi John If you want to save some money have a look on the Swap/For Sale section. Friend of mine has a GPS and Fish Finder for sale. This will at least get you started. Coddy
  3. Paul Having just spent a fortune on engine repairs, a service voucher would be nice or how about a new VHF DSC radio, Alderney anchor set up, all depends how much you have to spend ? Coddy
  4. You could also try a little nearer to home and try where the chain ferry operates. I have been told the nearer the slipway where the ferry comes the better and one chap said he tries to hit the ferry with the plug and let it drop from there! Can be a bit weedy depending how strong the tide flows. First thing in the morning or evening seem to be best. If in the evening you can pop into the Sandbanks Hotel for a drink afterwards! The FPO can sit in the car and watch the boats and world go by so she is happy as well!!!!!!!!!!!! Beware of car park ticket collectors as this is the first stop at 8.30am! So buy a ticket just in case. Coddy

    Which Chart

Have a look at the C-Map web site They now have the MAX NT+ range which showes the buoys flashing lights on the map!! I have also the C-Map reader so I can look at the maps that go into the plotter and add marks or waypoints and then uploadthem, via a users card, to the plotter. If you want to have a look at my set up when you are down give me a call, might even manage a sherbert or two! Coddy

    Charge-air Cooler

Trev I would have thought that if you could block both ends of the rad off with say demijon corks and use a radiator pressure tester which has a pump and gauge, depending what psi your turbo runs up too all you need to do is pump the rad/cooler up to theat pressure and see if it holds it. Simple to say however, I would have thought a good car red repairer would have had the required tools. Coddy
  9. Hi all Whilst the CI debate is going on, so is something nearer to home TOPE! I have copied an email from "Save our Sharks" you have until 20th October to respond. If the response is as good as it was for the Bass campain I am sure it will have an impact to those who make the final word. Please make the effort to respond for option 2 so we ALL can enjoy Tope sport. Coddy -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi All This is just a brief note to keep everybody up to date regarding the tope consultation. Have you responded yet? Please let us know. So far we know of just 5 from the SOS site. The biggest test we face is angler apathy. If every one assumes, plenty of others will write then option 1 of the consultation will come into effect and there will be no tope in 3-5 years. We also need to get as many MP

  15. Hi Launch Sammy today into Poole harbour, and when we tried the engine the tell tail was spluttering with water then none then water but in all cases with no force. I rang Tony, who was fortunatly working and he said bring the boat back around. So back on the trailer and off we went. After trying a number of things we all concluded that something is restricting the water flow and Tony now thinks it is a blown gasket/O ring where the engine joins the gearbox. Unfortuately he does not have all the parts so it wont be fixed until Wednesday at the earliest! As I work in Bicester, home of Barius, I might have to pick up the spares to speed the repair along! So tried Holes Bay with a beach caster to use up the worms, Bill managed a schoolie bass but I only managed the greater weed fish and its mate the lesser weed fish when the tide turned. Coddy
  16. Rich If you still read this BEFORE you go don't hold up any great hopes as I have been told that the red algiea has arrived with vengance and many fish are dying and even a manitee! Have a good holiday Coddy
  17. Can I suggest that you take a battery voltage reading when being charged. Some F/F you can change the display to show the voltage, should be approx 14 volts max. Coddy
  18. Had my engine serviced today at Select Marine. Even got a discount as a club member! (Martin I need a new club membership card sometime as I did not get one when I renewed) I also had Tony to look into an overheating warning that I got last time I went out. Apparantly there is some new strange weed floating around that looks like string and gets sucked into the water pumps and waterways and blocks! He has seen quite a few engines with this problem over the last few weeks. So keep clear of rafts of weed that you see! In my case the problem seemed to have been that the impellor blades had gone soft at the tips and not making good pressure, could have been due to starting the engine before it was immeresed fully in water. Paul J - Annual Open Comp sticker left with Tony and I think he will supply a prize if you approach him. Coddy
  19. Hi Terry Add me to your list of wants please Coddy
