  2. Graham is Little Sal and he's on the list so just the 3 to go :-)
  3. Do any of you have a novel way of carrying your pirks? I find them so awekward - heavy and sharp, at the same time. If i lob them in the lead bucket someone risks getting hooked, but they are too big and bulky for a rig wallet?
  4. Just to keep the list up to date and start looking at buddying boats up: Joint Venture - Adam, Alun J & Rob F Leaving Poole early (6am ish) cruise 16-20knots Awol - Martin, Terry, Kev Kingfisher, Chris, Chris Serenity - Tony, Graham, Alfie Wishin Too - Nige, Freebouys - Peter & Matt White Magic - Dave , Craig , Paul Alfresco - Charlie, Dan, Will, Ben Tigerfish - Steve, Lloyd, Alan ANYA - Andrew, Dean

  6. I doubt ill be able to make the meeting. Ill be looking to leave Poole early approx 6-6.30. 1 week to go! In fact this time next week I hope to be halfway there!
  7. :-) nope it's called having 2 young kids and appreciating a good nights sleep!
  8. The novilty of sleeping onboard wore off for me after a few years, after a long day at sea a hot shower, warm bed and a nice hot full English that doesn't stink the boat out has won me over!
  9. Nope - they are Pirate 21's Rob. As far as I know, we dont have any Pirate 18's in the club. Have a pop over to WSF (World Sea Fishing.com) and ask in the boat section, I'm sure you'll find the info you want on there. Adam
  10. Best to keep busy until 5 days out, takes your mind off it! I love and hate this time of year in equal amounts! Come Monday we will have a full look at the 4 days.
  11. Don't be pessimistic.... If we get the weather it will be a great trip regardless! As for the speedy tope.... We need the mackerel to be there, no maks, nothing for the tope to eat.... 9 days to go!
  12. Water is still cool, True Blue had his first trip this week, was pretty slow with something like 24 flats for the trip. Manta is out there at the moment and had a reasonable day today with one st 11lb and one a tad under 20lb. Mackerel are scarce, launce are ok. The wrecks nearer Alderney are fishing better than mid channel. No news about speedy yet. :-)

    chat room

When we first had it, it was novel and quite popular, most nights you could get a chat in there. I suppose it just got forgotten about? Maybe we should designate a given time and day once a week to meet there?
  15. Lol! It was a while ago that I tried, but I think it was 32 knots. Tab ah, I couldn't give a toss about the top end, I never use it, why would I, its the more economical cruise and lower planning speed that is the big benefit.
  16. I'd want to see it running, shouldn't be too hard to rig it up in a tub of water. If its a non-runner, you could make a silly offer for spares? If it runs, even rough, then £200 is a bargain.
  17. I had 3 at one point, but let 2 go with my last boat. You will be able to pick up another easily enough. Email on its way.
  18. Looks like you'll need one of these then? http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/ipb/topic/14461-quicksilver-25l-fuel-tank-gauge/
  19. Finally got this sorted. Coastal rides sent me out the wrong prop last week, right size but was too short in the hub. After a lot of to and fro, they offered to do send me a new Volvo prop at a good price. So for the record I had a 3 bladed Ali prop 14.25x21" I was getting 3600 rpm. Max rpm for the D3 Volvo is 4000 rpm. I now have a 4 bladed Ali prop 14.25x19". I went out today for a short blast up the harbour, a full tank of fuel, Little Reub and a huge bucket of tools onboard. In summary it is a better set up but it will take a few hours of use in varying conditions to really get a feel for it. The old prop wasn't that far off, but with this new prop I feel I'm getting the most out of the engine, and the right pitching and extra blade seem to do what everyone said they would: hole shot seems faster, I'm now planning at much lower speed, just over 10 knots, I get lower revs at cruising sped, for example I used to cruise at 18 knots for 2800rpm, I now get the same speed at 2600rpm. I did give it a WOT run.... That was scary! I've never wound the engine up to 4000 before! It felt like it was screaming and I was concerned that I'd go over.... But nope, at the throttle stop I was bang on 4000 so that was good news - this gave me 34 knots! I've also got the benefit if having a spare prop to carry just in case. So really chuffed and I look forward to trying it out a bit more this spring.
  20. Mmmmmm!
  21. Awesome Rob!
  22. Worth a watch: Some of these beasts are travelling over 150mph! Stick with it... 10 mins in has a few good shots!
  23. I've got for sale a Quicksilver 25l Fuel Tank, with built in gauge. It's in reasonable condition. These are £50 on eBay. I'd like £20 for it. Collection from Poole. Adam

    Fuel Tank

The link doesn't work? If a 115hp came of it, why are you fitting an engine half the HP?
