Whenever really? Looking at my records last year the fishing was good end of march. I'd rather not risk a trip too early if they aren't there so will monitor the charters rather than make a decision on dates now?

Looking at running down to Portland late March for the flatties. I will do it in a day, but if the weather is good might make it a 2 dayer and overnight in Portland. If its a two dayer, I'd favour and Fri and Sat. Anyone else fancy it?

Ive got 2 eyes that I want welding to my handrails on JV. Anyone know of a mobile welder that can do Stainless Steel? as it's such a small job I dont want to bother Peter R and I cant remove the rails to take them anywhere? Suggestions?

Can we also have a 'mark all content as read' button like we had before?

Ive got a spool of Whiplash here, its been loaded onto a reel and been used once. It's about £25 online. I'll take £15 posted or you can collect from my office in Poole. Adam

JV has a Lowrance broadband radar and like others have said, when I need it, it's great. It will easily pick up a Warrior sized boat in reasonable conditions. Like most radar once it's set up we leave it alone and just turn it on and off.

A belated Happy New Year to you all. As I didn't make the trip in 2012 due to the little issue of our newest member of the family arriving, I'm super keen to get back out again this year. Crew and dates are already sorted as I've got to work around family stuff in May, so I'm looking at heading over 3rd - 6th May. Tides are good that weekend. Can I twist anyone's arm to tag along with us? Adam

Same as others really. First comp I've fished this year.... A cracking day, everything went to plan.... Apart from the fishing Such a nice day to be afloat. Bacon and egg baps, loads of cups of tea. In t shirts by lunchtime, but hoards of doggies. I moved us twice but to no avail, more dogs. We had two whiting on the boat but they never really got going. More disappointing winter cod fishing. I'll have one more try and then concentrate on shooting till Spring!
