  1. Lol!
  2. Paul, I think you miss-understand. Mike is asking if this is a private trip where the fuel cost is split equal or is this a charter trip where the costs cover a skipper and fuel etc? No one expects a free ride!
  3. Thats great Martin. I think for the type of fishing us larger boats do, the holy grail is a more economical cruise. Is there a really noticable difference, not just a slight one? When I think to what we do on JV 80% of the time, it's running around against the tide up and down drifts with alot of gear and anglers onboard, so a quicker hole shot and more economical cruise makes sense. Is your Stainless Steel or is there a Ali option? Did it take much messing around with sizes to get it right? Maybe I'll drop into Prop Sol on the way to work on Fri morning.
  4. You know it's bad luck to not go to the Maris on the first night. Long walk yes, but you need it to build a hunger for a fish soup starter, then a pepper steak and then a guiness or 5!
  5. Anyone running or tried a 4 bladed prop? I read that they can offer an advantage on heavy offshore boats spending a lot of time cruising? Are they worth looking into?
  6. This trip must be loosing it's edge, its March and we only have 2 pages of posts!..... or are we all now sufficiantly aware of the weather constraints to avoid getting out hopes up!?! I'm slowely getting JV up to scratch after a winter of little use and buying new tackle ready for the trip. Cant wait!
  7. I'm going to start making plans around the 22/23rd March. Down on Friday back on Sat - leaves me Sun with the family. Anyone else?
  8. James, The slipway is marginally better than Kimmeridge, and as Paul said at LW you are launching on the shingle / stones. I thinks you can leave your trailer on the beach. Parking is in the CP next door or on the road if you get there early enough. The big benefit is that you are about 15 mins further out that if you launch at the Town Quay, and it's nice and sheltered unlike Kimmeridge, and it's free to use. It's right next to the Aqua Hotel if you look up the postcode for that for the satnav. If not cross the fleet into Portland and take a left at the 2nd roundabout. Don't head up the hill. Adam
  9. Wow that is quite cool and saves a load of hassle of having to switch between iPad / iPhone and pc
  10. Done.
  11. I'm going for it. Will be handy to attach pics from the iPhone.
  12. Good luck James. Ive decided against it as it's still early and cold, I'll crack on getting the boat ready and hope for a trip on the next weather window.
  13. Thought I'd offer these to members first before I ebay them. I bought these last week but I'm gutted as they are too tight, and sadly I cant return them, as Ive ditched the box. They are leather and Goretex, super comfy non-slip deck boots that will last an age. I bought my size - 9, but they are too snug, but wold suit a size 8 person nicely. They are about £160 online. I just need to recover some cash back against them for a new pair so will take £100 or best offer if anyone on here wants them. If you want to try them on that can easily be arranged.
  14. Thanks. I can live without it I think. Love the mobile skin!
  15. What does Tapatalk offer?
  16. That's early! I was going to go wrecking this weekend but its looking blowey? I haven't got a tide book for 2013 yet. Ill grab one and take a look later this week. Adam
  17. Ill try to get it posted on Weds mate. Adam
  18. John, no problem. Replied.
  19. Whenever really? Looking at my records last year the fishing was good end of march. I'd rather not risk a trip too early if they aren't there so will monitor the charters rather than make a decision on dates now?
  20. Looking at running down to Portland late March for the flatties. I will do it in a day, but if the weather is good might make it a 2 dayer and overnight in Portland. If its a two dayer, I'd favour and Fri and Sat. Anyone else fancy it?
  21. Doesn't work on iPad. :-(
  22. Thanks Paul, that will do for now. Cheers
  23. You trying to watch on an iPhone or iPad Charlie? Nige needs to make the videos public, then they will work.
  24. I like to click on the view new content button, read what intrests me and then click mark as read - otherwise each time I visit Ive got to trawl through unread threads to get to the new stuff? Can we have this linky back pretty please? x
