  1. Can't stop thinking what good a life raft will do if it attacked a 40' boat?
  2. Thx for confirming, not that I'm likely to go out fishing for cod. Getting too old to stand around in the cold December day.😅
  3. Not off shore, usual marks around the car park. Used to catch Congers 30+, some upto 50 lbs. Been told by various skippers the inshore marks are full of small/very small congers.
  4. I haven't been cod fishing in winter for years, I remember we used to catch quite a lot of big one as by catch. Is it still the case, or are they mainly small congers now?
  5. The go to recipe, chilli and salt. No matter how bland something is, it adds lots of favours to it. Just use small chunks, coat with flour and fried.
  6. Just eat more of the "not to good to eat" stuffs😁
  7. Thank you Colin for the offer, but I really only needed the recessed measurement ( which is 32mm) so that I don't screw the drawer unit too far forward or back.
  8. I spent the day ringing different branches to see if they have sold any pocket doors larder and if their fitters have fitted them. Ended up speaking to Jim, a bloke who I had bought 2 kitchens before from Andover, he's now at Eastleigh branch, apparently there's a fitter handbook, he got me the section about fitting pocket door larder. He was surprised Andover branch didn't know there's a handbook. Lofty, that's a nice looking kitchen. Is that custom by you or bought?
  9. I haven't even got to the door mechanism yet, need to build the cabinet first. I think I can build cabinet but can't guarantee the spacing allowed would be right, don't really want to try first and then have to re adust and end up with holes everywhere.
  10. The cables will move to the left hand side, just need clipping down, won't do it till the larder is in place and work out whereabout it comes to first. Plus there's a 150mm void behind the units.
  11. Yes, there is an instruction booklet, but it doesn't cover this pocket door. None of their fitters have fitted one before, head office is no help. My branch having to ring around different branch to see if anyone else has sold or fitted one. I have to build up a whole units from all the boxes around the bottom drawers unit with no instructions.
  12. Don't supposed anyone here has fitted one of this? Magnet is of no helps, no instructions, none of their fitter has ever fitted one of them. All their units come prebuild, except this which comes in more than 20 pieces and need to be built from scratch.

    Oh bugger

In China, we have a phase " one cent of money, one cent of goods". So basically you order items by grade, a,b or c. A being good, B being ok C being sh*t. When you are the one ordering merchandise, you specify what grade you want. Problems arise when you are buying stuffs off the guy who is purchasing from the merchant (worse if you are buying from the guy who's buying off the guy who's buying off the merchant), you don't know what grade it is. The reason importers have such a margin is that they will be covered if goods turn out to be crap and have to replace them. If you pay with PayPal or credit cards you will have a degree of protection but may need to jump thru hoops to get them.

  17. Dumb question, any chance the switch is faulty?
  18. Get him to come over with you, and you can familiarise the boat further. Put him up on a b&b or stick him straight on the plane back, Assuming there's no quarantine when back on the island.
  19. Can't you get the seller to deliver it and pay him for expenses? If he says yes, that means he has confidence of the boat covering the channel.
  20. Yes, when I catch a real big one and earmarked that for sushi, then I would. All others for BBQ or whatever just put in cool box.
  21. I think it all depends how you cook and eat your fish. We tend to cook and eat our fish skins, bones, fins all in ( don't ask but we do). If we don't bleed the fish, the blood will tend to stay around the cavity behind the guts area, and it doesn't taste very nice when cook. If all you do if fillet the fish avoiding the bone areas, there wouldn't be much blood in the flesh ( you can still see the blood vessels and all but wouldn't taste much different). The only exception is for large mackeral and scats which we want to turn into sushi then you want to bleed the fish, you don't want blood in the flesh
  22. 2 bags of ice cubes from ice machine, into a Coleman fish box, half filled with sea water. Breams and bass go in for a icy bath with gills cut to let blood out. End of day, fish is ice cold and fresh.
  23. The range is pretty impressive. I got WiFi to listen to radio 2 while working on the shed. I have the M4 which is the model this replaces.
  24. Prime can be good if you play the system. Just signed up for it and immediately go to prime home page and cancel the subscription, you still get the full 30days benefits while it will end in 30 days.
