What was it they caught the night before? Don't think it's a barracuda, cos there didn't seem to be much teeth in the mouth, looks like a king mackeral to me.

What flipping trace was he using? Even 25lb trace wouldn't last 1 rub from its grinderlike skin...... Not to mention it had to be hooked right on the scissors!

Rob is a top bloke, nothing is too much trouble. When I first started on my boat he gave me a few marks in the region to start off with. PS If you are going on his boat make sure you bring plenty of food, Rob do like to nab others' lunches ........

I think the driver has got to bear most of the blame. To leave the motor running in gear or he simply drive off not realising someone was behind the boat. It's like reversing your car without checking what's behind you first.

Sandeels (the small one not lance) seem to live for a long time in aerated still water in cold weather. When we went over to the Geurnsey back in April, there were 3 sandeels (left over from the previous day) in the livebait tank in about 8-10" of water and they were alive when we got back to Weymouth.

Welcome to the forum. Are you trailering or leaving your boat in water? I likw the slipway in Warsash, free to use and so is the parking . As long as you use the slip from mid tide down. Top half is very shallow and lots of rubbish washed up.

I think the USA coast guard use 4 motors across the back of this, and it spends over half the time airbourne when on full throttle.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Abu (uk distributor I take it) told you to take it back so I presume PAC will get the rod reimbured? So why are they being difficult?!

How did you damage yours? I have the 3 piece boat/uptide with the extendable handle for about a year now, good rod, fairly tippy but lots of back bone. What I like about it is that the fact I only need carry this rod with a mag 535 and the combo covers all (almost) fishing.

If it was the 48 hrs comp Adam, we had awful weather, we couldn't get on the plane for the way out there. Mine used half the total fuel just to get out there. The other half on the drifts and way back.
