The idea behind this is to start to break down barriers, the evening will be a fun relaxed environment where I intend to have as many people there as possible from all walks of the boat world from Dorset. I used to have a boat on a Jetty above the bridge at Wareham, it had a raw water cooled on-board, I kept that afloat every winter and never had problems.

I would always go for separate antennas, every connection reduces the signal strength.

Hi James Can I suggest you join the Club. Lots of experience and knowledge that members are willing to share. We can arrange various training courses (RYA Level 2, VHF Radio etc). There's always the opportunity to fish in company with other club boats.

That's my next move.

My Warrior is 5m, I have to pay their minimum charge which is 6m, I just scrape in (by not quite raising the engine fully when they measured).

One reason is the outboard adds a fair bit to the length when Cobb's measure the boat.
