Brian reacted to gjb in Greenie Revenge
Greenie Revenge
Australia’s ‘Chief Woman Greenie Tree-Hugging Activist’, who was responsible for getting horses banned from National Parks and State Forests, was climbing a tree to have a look out over the forest when a Tawny Frogmouth Owl attacked her for invading its nesting site.
In a panic to escape, she slid down the tree, getting a great number of splinters lodged in her crotch area. In considerable pain she hurried to the nearest doctor, told him she was an environmentalist and how she got all the splinters.
The doctor listened with great patience and then told her to go into the examining room and he would see if he could help her. She waited for 3 hours before the doctor reappeared. Angry, the woman demanded, “What took you so long?”
“Well...” replied the doctor, “I had to get permits from the Environmental Protection Agency; the Forestry Service; the National Parks and Wildlife Service; the Wilderness Society and the Department of Conservation and Land Management before I could remove “old growth timber” from a “recreational area” . . . I’m sorry but they all turned me down.”

Brian reacted to Greg in Cod Competition
My laptop is offline at the moment hence why Martin has very kindly uploaded the picture. Thanks Martin.
Rob Samways and I set off to the South side of the spoil ground.
We arrived at the mark and our squid were still frozen. Without thawing I dropped in a very small squid on a size 6 penned.
I then diverted my attention to set up a whiting rod and whilst doing so my rod started to nod. Fish on. The rod tip typically nodded as I was reeling in and I said to Rob this must be a conger!
Wrong! A nice 18lb 6oz cod landed within the first 10 minutes of fishing. This was also a personal best for me.
Rob caught a nice 8lb Smoothy and as the tide started to race and the Congers got bigger we retired to the Sadler for some gentle Whiting fishing.
Rob had about 10 whiting for the pot. So a winning day for both of us.

Brian reacted to Coddy in RNLI Christmas Day Call out
It seemed that there was only one national shout on Christmas Day, unlucky for the crew of Walmer lifeboat who got called out just after 9.00am
However today there has already been a number of call outs around the UK & Ireland.
Take it easy out there if you are in the Cod comp and don't take any unnecessary risks, a fish is not worth your life or someone else who may be trying to rescue you!

There were a few fish weighed in Steve.
I'll let Neal & Stuie post the results.
Thank you both for organizing it.
Big thanks to Martin for letting me crew for him.
Always the perfect host.
Cheers.
