  1. I replaced two of my 7000's last year when in Alderney and almost got the pair for the normal UK prce thanks to Marks keen pricing no delivery and no VAT I think that they are the 7000ci They will not last as long as previous 7000 that are much older than my boys but when used with my Kensaki 12-20 they make excellent pollacking outfits. On the smaller rod I use the smaller reels, and providing they have a full spool they cope well, although I am tempted to get one of those avets. I feel that the 6-12lb rod and 6500 is a bit to light for deep wrecking so I use the 12-20. Nice light weight if drift fishing all day Charlie
  2. Hi Dan Have a great birthday, and do not get too blasted when you go out tomorrow Charlie
  3. Mike I usually use one of my smaller 6000 or 6500 abu's with mine but if I am having a mad moment and pollacking with it, I use my 7000Ci Charlie
  4. Happy Birthday Dean Have a great time on Friday Charlie
  5. Great news Pete Very pleased for Pat and Lyle and I hope it sets precident for more common sense on this issue. Charlie
  6. mark you ommitted to tell our friend on teh forum that you are in Auckland NZ Nice fish though mate Charlie
  7. I think if all are allowed to translate the rules any way they like How can we stand firm against things like discards, minimum sizes etc If there is a legal minimum size for any species then surely we should support that, not just ignore it and joke about it. Charlie
  8. well talk about shooting the messenger. Its the Fisheries officers that should be communicating this, but as discussed after our last meeting they need some help I believe that we need to get the message over to those that are totally unaware that there even is such a thing as a Bass nursery area. Charlie
  9. all we need to do now is make sure they are posted at all Marina's and slipways around the harbour. Oh and perhaps on Greenslades front door I will print a couple off tomorrow and start the ball rolling at work, then maybe get Sam to pop one in to John at Poole Quay Boat Haven Charlie
  10. there is a word for you sir but I am too reserved to use it I hope you mother managed to bring you up OK on her own Enjoy Cuba Terry , keep us updated on the fish etc Charlie
  11. Just i case someone is looking for a small outboard A member of the Yacht Club is selling a mint condition 3.3 HP long shaft 2 stroke OBM 5 hours running
  12. I must say I agree with Peter an extensive area where we can go and the trawlers can not, does not sound bad to me. Add to that the potential for each one to act as a FAD, they could prove to be a bit of a blessing. and a mark easy to find in anything but fog. Unless they make it a no take zone of course I see from threads on the WSF that after construction there is no exclusion zone and blade clearance is stated as 22 metres from the sea. Charlie
  13. Happy birthday matey have a good one Charlie
  14. Can not understand why they did not just drop a 1lb scare charge in it and move off. 1lb of TNT would have sorted it I guess they were just bored.
  15. Thanks Dave They are very good for approximate Lat/longs. But you seem to have the boxes differant sizes in Lat and long. sorry mate not meaning to sound critical of what you have done. I have emailed them requesting the exact positions, but am not holding my breath for a reply. From the text it seems like it is the central area, that they are now looking at. so if you would like to add those as well it would help. The larger area is what was offered to them to choose from. I wonder if it will ever get built? Charlie
  16. http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/resources/images/1572248/ It certainly looks like a big area. That will definately be of interest to a lot of our Members, anyone know who we could get the co-ordinates of the corners of this area from? Out of interest I would like to plot that over my waypoint/mark/wrecks plan. Charlie
  17. Thanks Duncan Has anyone seen a chart of the proposed area yet? Charlie

Hey big man welcome back, good to hear you are still around. No need to be shy get in touch, it would be great to have you onboard again. Both in the Club and on the Boat Charlie
  19. I look forward to seeing the BIG fish pictures Charlie
  20. If you are struggling with a transome mount it is probably not lined up properly and suffering from cavitation. Mine is a simple skimmer transducer fitted inside the hull on epoxy, as Martin's mine works fine even at over 20 knots. I tried it in a few places bedded on blue tac, whilst deciding where was the best place [mines just about half way along the hull just off the centre line] Charlie
