  5. Alun, Not possible to win more than 1 as you can only count best specimen Never seen first and second, but I would have done 1st and 3rd before if that had been allowed. Not sure if my best was 35lb conger or 15oz herring [Which equals the Club record BTW, so I suppose we had three on the boat this weekend] I am sure Tom wont mind sharing that with me LOL not a fair swap Adam please advise on herring Dans was 30lb eel Thanks Charlie

    reapir

Adam One thing you will need to know is, to get gelcoat to set hard you need to exclude air On a small repair that is easy by putting tape over the gel and leave it to go off. on bigger repairs 2% styrene wax is added, this come to the surface and keeps air out. Profesionals take great time and effort to match colours so that after flattening and smoothing with various grades of wet and dry the repair can not be seen and no need for painting. on newer boats gelcoat can be obtained from the makers to match hope that helps Charlie

    Knots

There is also the double grinner knot, search for it on youtube and a guy [Mike???] runs through it in detail and then also the allbright. Or look on WSF search J knot, I have yet to try that one but it looks simple enough. Charlie
  9. Nice fish mate well done Charlie
  10. Great report Tom Been to tired to do one yet. 4 very good fish and a bloody good day. Dan and I now have a reason to try harder. Still not sure about the footwear, but you moved quick when they got near to the tope or eels Well done on the New Club record, thats the second time we have broken one twice in a day, last year it was turbot. Charlie
  11. I Texted Adam a couple of times today They had a couple of drifts to break up the trip and a few pollack to about 10lb. and then on to the banks by about 11. I believe JV had 5 Turbot and a brill on the banks today in about 4 hrs and are there all day tomorrow. Sounds fun Charlie

  18. I am still looking for a good PC system that I can use at home when passage/trip planning. I use mapcreate to load/save info to from my plotter and thats much easier than putting marks in on the plotter. I also use sonar viewer to replay the recordings taken through the Lowrance combo unit, again that is great But I would love to be able to get Navionics gold info on Mapcreate or simular. I am considering getting PC plotter, as it uses navionics . With laptop, 12 volt adaptor, navionics card and gps ariel it would be another plotter with AIS. I have downloaded the demo, and as its the solent Isle of wight it does show what this can do and it does look impressive on the large monitor in my study. just need to justify the cost now!! If anyone knows of a cost effective way of getting this facility on a PC please let me know. Charlie
  19. You need the full engine serial number then any Mariner agent will be able to tell you. They use coded numbers so that the general public can not tell the age when purchasing, but service centres need to know for specifications, technical data and parts. Charlie
  20. Thats great Mick I hope it all works If you are fishing this weekend please do not forget to enter the 48 hr comp. Best specimen format and well worth supporting Charlie
  21. Dan now has to go to College on Monday So weather permitting we will go Friday after work, stop for bait and a few hours fishing somewhere. then into port. Only be in weymouth FRI and SAT overnight, but probably go in on Sunday evening for the BBQ before a quick run home at last light. Other crew TBC Charlie
  22. Hi Billy What is the format ? It seems like there is a lot of bream, pout, gurnard macs gars and various wrasse inshore, With the usual mix of rays, eel hounds and LSD I am sure you will be busy Charlie
  23. Paul D You have a PM mate Charlie
