Well done Brian That gives you 7 weeks to: Think of a good name mow the grass decorate the house walk the dog fuss over the missus etc because in 8 weeks none of that will get done LOL I hope you have as much fun on her as we do on Alfresco. Charlie
  4. Nice one Fred did you find it down the toilet??? Or is that where the crew hid? Looks a bigun mate, weight??? Well done Charlie
  5. Did you wegh it? They really do pack some weight as they are so thick. Many Many years ago Wendy caught one out of Pompey. It did not have a huge area, but it weighed 34lb well done on catching one they are quite rare Charlie
  6. Belated Happy birthday Bill Hopeyou had a good one Charlie
  7. Just been through those lights to drop Dan into town and we go that way every day into work. On the way out of town I approached the lights at 30 and was overtaken by a bike two cars and a van all well over 30 what a money spinner that will be especially on a Tuesday evening Bar stewards
  8. Bad luck Mick They do say every day is a fishing day, but not every day is a catching day. Doubt that helps or the fact that the WSF trip reports from the banks were slow. better luck next trip mate Charlie
  9. Not neccesarily the structures themselves that would help the fishing although the pontoons here at work grow weed and other life that attracts small fish which in turn Pollack and Bass enjoy. If the area already had some underwater features even better. But if they put in an area of these things, they will no doubt insist on a no entry /fishing zone. The effect of which should be a Nursery area. It has been found abroad that the benifits of such an area is good to surrounding areas, when the mature fish have to move out. lets hope if they get these built they are not on our best fishing spots Charlie
  10. Hi Guys we buy our box section from James Bros look them up and give the stockroom a call for prices If you have a list of sizes and lengths [from the old one] they may have some of it in the offcuts bin. but steel is still pricey Best of luck Charlie
  11. That was luck Adam
  12. Our mark info may have to change Ie turn left at the second windmill and go half way to the next one IF it ever happened it could be a blessing IMHO Charlie
  13. Nice one Trev Great report on a great day Charlie
  14. The various boats lined up as we left early yesterday
  15. What a nice weekend The weather on Friday stopped us going over early, and Dan needed to be at college today so we were very limited. Will was able to join us for a couple of days so we left Poole early Sat Fished on the way over, then arrived just after AWOL at about 1700. we berthed with no problem in the cove area, shower, changed paid berthing fee then off to the george for supper. [We don't really chain Will to our cooker] The food and beer were good and we moved to the Sailers return to meet up with the WSF crews. What a fine bunch of obviously enthusiastic anglers, they had come from far and wide in a variety of boats [i will add a picture later] Sleeping onboard on the shortest night of the year had me awake early and off for a walk, back for bacon butties for breakfast, then just as the others arrived to get ready we were off. a long day on the wrecks so I decided to go home the 30 miles or so rather than into weymouth and home that night [an extra 25-30 miles.] It was a shame we only had 1 night to join the chatting and drinking, but we really enjoyed it while we were there, the boat is on her mooring with the pennant flying. I hope that the weather stays good for the week and Martin, Dean and all continue to have a great week. Great trip glad we went Charlie
  16. Nice report Rob Glad you managed to work around the weather and get some fish on your line. New areas are always difficult but fun. Charlie

    Bay Rod

Hi Dave Dan and I bought some rods at Christmas, they are Diawa Kensaki the ones we bought were 30/50 but sem to be a very light action. Will who regulary fishes with us bought one of the lighter ones, and I bought a 6-12 version when in Alderney for breaming/bassing. over the months our confidence has grown with these rods, so much so that they are being used pollacking over wrecks and cod fishing on the summer cod marks. Now we are used to them they are fast becoming favorites Charlie
  18. Hi James My money was always on you and your Golden orbs I am still 100% sure that if you were able to fish like you used too it would have gone ages ago. We both have a bigger target now mate. best regards Charlie
  19. Well done Tom, Dave, and Carl And all of the anglers and skippers that took part. See you all out there again soon Charlie
