Sun fished the comp, went for small fishies of b'mouth pier had Dogs, wrasse, gurnards, pollack, maccy, bream. smoothounds and a 3 1/2lb bass. Mon went out for a more gentle fish out west, couldnt find maccy off swanage, found them more out. Saw a sun fish @ 4ft long which swam up to the boat! no fish other than maccy all day, was drifting near too (1/2a mile away)Tango Bravo who was also on the drift.

Charlie Where abouts were the tope, hoping to play around that way next week, would love to catch a 20lb+ one! Tight lines

after work on monday went for a nice gentle inshore drift between canford cliffs and b o mouth pier, moved into b'mouth rocks in eve had bream, doggies, pout, small smuts, had maccy on single hooks and a bass to 3lb. Nice eve.

Went out sat eve 5-11, fished in 60ft water on a small bank off swanage, for rays. Had a mix of doggies, smuts and bream, maccy, some spider crabs and a cuttle fish, and a small ray. Moved into evans rock at dusk had pout, doggies and I had a run on maccy fillet but it spat the hook Their was a charter boat of peverill who then went in close to ballard I suppose for conger?

was the spare bouy near to the houses/cottages on brownsea

Just a quick one of teh weekend, fri eve struggled to find maccy, had a huge gar follow feathers up off durlston head, then went out and had a strap of 18lb off dancing ledge way, dusk was approaching so came into evens rock, jim had a 3lb strap, and a 9lb ray, usual doggies, pout, cuttles etc. Came into brownsea castle for 2nd HW to se if could get a bass, fished maccy strip tied onto last bouy near to bouy 44. First drop and my 6lb rod bends over, bass me thinks! and a heavy fish at that after 5 mins a 12lb strap pops his head up, then drop down again, and another strap of 8lb, nick loses a strap and so does jim, all in under hrs fishing then there gone. First harbour conger for me! Sat afternoon went out, couldnt find maccy, came into poole patch for bream at dusk, managed some smuts to 6lb and mix of doggies/pout etc Sun day, couldnt find any maccy, dropped anchor in swanage bay, had some spiders, bream, and smuts, put down 1/2 cuttle head and I had a 13 4 thorny, 1/2 later nick gets a 14 4 on the other 1/2 of cuttle head! so well chuffed!! defientely going back there for

me and nick took thu and fri off. thu headed out for tope, no joy just doggies, pout and an 11oz red gurnard, came inshore and had bream, doggies and maccy of ballard fri decided to go to the patch had 6 smuts to 5lb, 5 of them to peeler, one to rag, loads of bream to 2lb, rag with a tip working best. maccy, wrasse, doggies and pout Sun a general fish with bream to 1 3/4, doggies, pout, wrasse to 2 1/2, smuts and maccy, managed to also boat 2 cuttles and a spider. When came into mitchells "OW much" was in and they had some decent cod

we will fish the club one, as we catch and return. Also how do members weigh there smaller fish is it in a plastic bag and dont include the weight of the bag or tare off on the scales, so can return teh fish as quickly and safely as possible?

Firstly thankyou to the forum for pointing us in the right direction for the tope, using info gathered from here and other fishy places decided to go for first tope bash. Went out at 7 and to lobster rock and bagged up on maccy, then out to the tope grounds between the mile marker posts, drifting for tope, after frist drop and losing kit moved a bit further out, me and brian re-tied rigs and dropped down, within 5mins both rods were bent over double and we brought up our first tope!!! we landed a dozen all between 10-15lb and lost many more due to spat hooks (too big a bait?), brian played one for ten mins before it rolled on his leader and shredded his 60lb line. Tide picked up and bikes dissapeared so came into ballard and managed a solitary bream, some doggies, maccy and a pout, soent last 1/2hr bagging up on maccy. No monsters but hopefully next time, was great using 2oz of lead on a 6lb class rod to catch them.

Help? Is it the club bream comp on the 22nd and is it the Poole sea angling one? how does this work do we fish one or other? Just need to clarify before organising with nick and plank

Looking to go on monday for first ever tope trip on nik nak, any advice on depth of water, features or numbers would be appreciated.

Went out on tue 8am-4:30pm was abit too bumpy to go round to dancing leadge way (will still ahve to wait till tempting nick to go there!) so tried evans rock, missed a few bream bites early on, so moved of old harry /ballard with the other boats, fished 34ft of water between 1st and 2nd HW, I had a gar on flot kit, we then had the bream and landed 6 all between 2lb and 2 1/2lb, with one coming to float kit which was great. Drifted the swash before coming home and I had a schoolie of 1 1/2lb.

Thinking of tempting Nick to go down dancing ledge way for some bream any advice on depth of water, roughly how far off shore, features etc to look for for the bream fishing or any hazards/areas to avoid?

Me and nick went out after work even though a frsh NW wind, went out to outer patch. alas forgot the squid so no tipping which unfortunatley led to a large number of wrasse! Me, 13 ballan wrasse to 1lb, a 7oz cuckoo wrasse, 5 bream to 1lb 4oz, 6 pout to 1lb and a goby! Nick, 6 wrasse, 7 bream to 1 3/4lb, 4 pout. Bait, rag and peeler. ALso so a black tipped large sea bird which dived from @50ft and cught a maccy! Alas no 2lb+ bream yet!

I remember when had a 18lb strap on the patch on my carp rod and 2oz lead excellent fun! This year seeing if we can get a strap on 1oz float kit and a spinning rod!

Was at work friday mroning looking out over holes bay so decided to take day off with nick.. We went and fished outer patch in 42ft of water on edge of patch fished 11-3 and had dozen bream to 1 3/4lb, gars to 14oz on float kit, maccy on float kit, doggies and 4 smuts! Baits Rag, herring, squid and peeler.

After meeting jim at mitchells as nick was not well enough to come, ment I was driving the boat. Decided to fish outer patch for bream during run up to High water got there 1/2 hr before evryone else, but unfortunately couldnt hook into them, decided to drift as a pot boat was working here, then all the other boats turned up some getting way too close considring we was fihinga nd had lines out, then they started dropping anchors etc, sometimes I think skippers of other boats dont have any regard for other fisherman or problems they could get into by how close they anchor to eachother and strings of pots, or the best one see your drifting and anchor just where u have drifted over so you cant do your drift again! we went abit further out and managed some doggies wrasse and pout, decided then to come into teh piers to drift to see if could bag a plaice or schoolie. worked our way towards branksome had afew more wrasse, then did swash, nothing then entrance nothing Catch for the day colin, 2 doggies, 2 pout and 3 wrasse jim, 1 doggies, 2 pout and a wrasse Hope to get out for some eve trips for the bream, but weather looks pants thsi week.

Nick went out friday and managed 2 smallish plaice drifting the swash Sat we decided to go and snuck out to past the spoil ground, alas still nets there (been informed that they are targetting bream in the nets) went 1/2 mile further south and managed some doggies, pout and a 1lb wrasse, fishless for 1hr so went for a drive to see if could find the venezula wreck, even with fishfinder, chart and co-ordinates couldnt find her was a change from 110ft to 100ft over 1/4mile in a east west direction is this it? Tally for day Me 2 wrasse, 1 pout, 6 doggies Nick, 1 pout, 4 doggies Came in towards the outer patch and had another wrasse and a few doggies, The charter boats are doing their evening bream trips to teh patch so rekon not far away to get some bream. Fished with my new fladen maxximus 6lb rod, (fished 2-6oz OK)excellent inshore rod, reel seat a bit too large from the rod which unbalances it abit, but for

OW much was getting early tope last year end of aprilish I think? so chance of early one or two? End of rod got donated to davy while setting up through the harbour, alas not by me!

Decided to take Mon PM of work, me and nikc drifted swash upto 2nd HW I had a nice 2lb plaice. Then went out to spoil grounds over LW for doggies loads of nets @1/4-1/2 S SE of the spoil grounds, was beeping fish on the fish finder when went over them! no doggies, had a sharp bite on peeler crab possibly an early bream (probably a pout!) but dropped it, Came in 9ish after only a single plaice. When got back water wasnt on at mitchells to wash down and also nicks key fob to get out didnt work , so locked in the yard! luckily someone else just came back in so spoke to them and they told us how to overide the gate (good security eh!) Oh and also top end of my favourite rod ended up being donated to Daveys locker on way out!
