Decided with a spring tide and a good blow to give the beach a bash for some bass expecting at least some surf was dissapointed when was flat! Anyway we managed between me nick and jim (blanked!), 1 bass 12 inches, 1 plaice 1lb 2oz 1 flounder 2/3lb and a 3 bearded rockling @25cm. I was missing loads fo bites which was really grating me as tied new rigs, maybe small pout? 2nd excuse for not catching more was that the moon was out and it was too bright!

After seeing shoals of mullet swimming around mitchels (I think early this year?)the signs were good for a nice session but alas only one plaice landed but was a nice evening drifting the swash, blown out for rest of weekend hopefully a mid week session will start to find the summer species. My friend fished chesil and landed bucket loads of hermit crabs hopefuly also a sign of summer!!

Nick went out last night and managed 2 plaice a bass a pout and a doggie alas I was watching a very poor football match down the pub looks like made wrong choice!

We drifted the swash as did alot of other boats and although all getting bites only managed a 1lb 2oz flounder for jim and he also reeled in a cuttlefish to the side of the boat before it decided to let go

where are the rips??

After getting some live peeler and some settled weather friday was looking full of promise, however after fishing swanage bay at anchor and then on the drift and then poole patch/hook sands not even a bite. Also managed to take a dip when trying to get onto the pontoon, I hope the mobile dries out soon!!! Out again on sunday so hopefully better luck!

Fished Canford Cliffs last night a 1lb plaice on 1st cast @40yds out. Missed 3 other schoolie bites (size 4 hooks on 2 hook clipdown so perhaps a bit too small for the bass?) all in close, nothing at distance on 1 hook clip down. However nick and jim fished sunday night and had 4 bass to 1 3/4lb and a dab and a plaice in 3 hours (there was more surf so perhaps the schoolies were in closer?)

Snuck out after low water, tried drifting hook/swash for plaice - nothing, tried drifting old harry for bream - nothing tried drifting the patch - nothing - picked up a pot on "lobster Rock" and managed a lonely pout. drifted inshore a branksome - nothing. Still a bit early in the season?

Fished abbotsbury yesterday afternoon evening and caught tiny pout! never thought would be using size 4's of abbotsbury but had to to catch the buggers managed 25 pout and 3 rockling between us, nothing on big baits! (A waste of 10 peelers 10 frozen peelers only 2.75) . Was a fantastic afternoon sun was shining and realitively warm! Ayway when picked bait up from our bait supplierhe informed me that they have been netting bream to 4lb and smoothhounds from off Swanage. Wether these are transient fish or ones here and feeding I dont know? Is trying to find a mark where there is food present at the moment have a chance for some early summer species? ALthough have got abit of a cold easterly spell coming up.

They do a better quality braid which is slightly more expensive. And I am sure that thisis not teh best braid on the market, however for the price is very good. Mike did say about giving discounts on bulk orders over

We went for a drive on sunday, was well impressed with "the well" of peverill point anyone fished this 120ft deep hole? Drifting for bass in summer maybe? Carried bit further round and drifted over a wreck @1 1/2 of Tilly Whim Cave/Anvil Point Light house anyone fished this mark (Is shown on the charts)? Possible big conger in summer? Carried even further down and there was a charter boat in close to where I think Seacombe cliffs is before St Albans Ledge anyone fished here? On way past Durlston saw some seagulls pecking at something in the water and was a huge wrasse @ 7-8lb! Came back into swanage and did a spot of fishing on Evans roack and had a doggie. Excellent day out finding new marks and having a drive.

Lulworth Banks – Due to the lack of daytime fish we are planning to look further field and do a reccy’ for marks which may be good to fish for bigger smoothhounds, tope and rays in the summer and work out how long how much fuel etc it takes to get there. Was thinking of the Lulworth banks, has anyone got any experience/suggestions of marks here or what to look for on the fishfinder or marks closer which could be worth looking at or areas not to go to/dangerous tide races etc!

has anyone fished Church Ope on Portland am looking at a possible trip there and was wandering how "tackle hungry" this location is and if anything would be around this time fo year or should I try Warbarrow Bay?

Was going with 2 friends and one didnt get back from london till late so wouldnt of been till 9ish before fishing so stayed local

just fished southborne last night and managed pout and rockling no rays ro soles and was v.cold!

Ray fishing it is tonight! looking flat so good chance of a ray and low water is at 8ish at warbarrow so fishing the flood up. Will let you know how got on!

Going out tomorrow evening with some beach fishing mates does anyone know if warbarrow is fishing at the moment (possible rays?) or should we stick to the local beaches or will I blank no matter where I go?
