    Friday

What a strange day, left Poole at 7am and headed off to the mid channel thought I try somewhere different to last week as they always say if you go back to the same wreck it never fishs the same as the time before. Got to our first mark, and got into fish straight away on the flood, we have a nice cod to 18lb and three between 9 and 10 lbs. The weather was brighting up and the wind was dying down, so we decided to press on out further, and we got to our next wreck first drop and a nice ling 15lb, and a few pollock even though we tried our hardest not to catch any!!They still seem to love jumping on the hook, shouldn't really complain they make up the day when fishing is a bit slow. As soon as the tide turned and started ebbing the fishing stopped, the sun went in and the wind picked up and started to get a bit sloppy out there, we tried three more wrecks on the way home, and not one fish on any, seem like the fish had stopped feeding the minute the tide turned. Never mind good morning shame the afternoon got worse and worse, and to make matters worse lost all charge to the batteries, which isn't handy when one by one your electronics go down.Hope its only a battery fault, any ideas?

    Crew

Just an enquiry, I see alot of you post that you need crew, what does this entail? Generally if someone offers to crew for you, does that mean that they chip in towards fuel or is it that if they come and help you on the boat for the day they get a free trip?
  7. Hi guys The 18th and 19th June are good for me, as I get back from the states on the 17th. What I would bear in mind is that the rips fishes noticably better on a flood tide, and as on these dates the tide will not be flooding until later in the afternoon, this might leave fishing alittle bit slow. we could always stop off at the Brittle Star ground for Cod, which is only a few miles before the Rips. Like I say I am willing to follow you out and be there in case anyone needs any help.
  8. If we get a good settled period of weather and i am available i would love to come out with you guys as a safey boat and could carry your extra fuel if needed. As I am 33ft long and have 420hp to push me along, so if anyone needed a tow wouldn't be a problem. I have fished the rips quite often and the best time to get there is on the start of the flood as the ebb tide doesn't fish as well, also in a smaller boat you don't want to fish it on a spring tide as it gets very lumpy. I am out of the country for the first two weeks in June off to the states again. Reference bait dropper have a look at probass or boaters world at there chum dispensers, the white tube that looks good.

    Tope

Went out today with Simon Way and Alan fishing for Tope, I had a 17lber and Alan had a 10lber. The problems we seemed to be having is that we would have a run from the tope, but then they would drop the bait, leaving us very fustrated, all in all a good day. It started to get a bit lumpy in the afternoon out there. So we moved in and tried for some Bream at Ballard but caught nothing.

  14. I didn't need to pay someone to anti-foul the boat I just got my girl friend to do it, didn't take her long, one day to put a primer on and a top coat as I told her the faster she worked the warmer she would be as the boat was out in the cold spell in February, I was keeping warm in the wheel house looking after the kettle!! Thanks for all your remarks on the boat, this is our third boat, we started off with a Hardy fisher then went to an Ocqueteau 715 then we decided that we couldn't go far enough so we got the Evo 33, and I still haven't stop dreaming about getting a cat. Just by getting a bigger boat doesn't mean that I can find the fish any easier!!
  15. If you moan to dad long and hard and tell mum it only cos a few quid you may just get lucky. I don't use the boat for charter just for fun and we had it built to my spec as i use a wheel chair 80% of the time.
  16. Weather permitting i will steam round and give it ago should take me about 2hrs.

    56lbs

The reason i need 2 x 56lbs weights is one is to help blance the boat as my boat weigh 7.5 ton's and leans to one side a little and the other one is needed for driffing reasons. i am happy to buy them just can't find any where. i have seen load's in the RNLI and the market traders seem to get them.
