No different boats jim, James (Jim Bob) has had his raider a good few years and I think it's one of the last uk ones. fisherman style rather than the cuddy model I had. I'm sure I saw my old raider (stargazer) in Poole this summer heading toward the harbour entrance. Strange as the guy who bought it planned to take it to Ireland, sure it was her though. Anyone else seen it ?

Thanks Jim, will still be getting out with Jim Bob and have bought a prowler 13 kayak. Might even help me trim up a bit. Will be remaining a member of PBSBAC, that goes without saying.

Thanks Tom / Charlie, Matt is comming to have a look on monday. My insurance is done by GJW Direct. I have submitted a claim form for the lot and crossing fingers they will help with some of the cost. From the documentation I have I am fairly sure the radio and damage to the loom is covered at least... chris

Can anyone recomend a good marine electrician who could come and quote to rewire stargazer after my theft. I need someone to go through the electrics as when the gear was stolen they just ripped out the wiring under the console and my nav lights and dials are no longer working. I will also be asking them to wire in a new sonar and dsc radio. I need someone who can provide reciepts as I hope to be able to claim some of this back via insurance. My insurance have said they will not cover any of the stolen property which could be removed ( plotter, sonar, life jackets, rods, reels etc etc ) but they will help with replacing the dsc radio and repairing the wiring loom, less my policy excess of course ! The police came out on the night of the theft and have fingerprinted the boat but found nothing, they did say several boat equipment thefts have been reported in the poole area recently so keep an eye out chaps. Thanks for all kind words of support. chris

At about 9.00 pm this evening I recieved a call from Solent Coastguard informing me that my dsc radio was transmiting an emergency signal and was everything ok ? At first I was a little confused as the boat is happily tucked away in the RNLI compound, I then realised the only way it could be transmiting was if someone was trying to steal the boat or equipment. I was down to the compound in under 20 minutes but not quite fast enough............. The following have been stolen and should anyone be offered any of the following in a suspicious way please contact me. M-TECH MT500 DSC VHF RADIO GARMIN 276C PLOTTER WITH E.CHANNEL MAP GARMIN FF140 FISH FINDER 4 CREWSAVER AUTO LIFEJACKETS 3 RODS AND REELS (1 ABU, 1 PENN, 1 MITCHEL REEL ALL WITH GREEN BRAID) What a silly sod I feel for leaving these on the boat and thinking it would be safe inside the compound. Looks like most of it wont be covered by the insurance I have. Lesson learnt the hard way.

Charlie loved that Tope like it were his own, the Tope loved Charlie too but alas both knew they would soon be separated and may not see each other again for years... Quietly Charlie shed a tear whilst saying goodbye

Tide not much of an issue really in that area unless its a really big one, 4oz of lead ( casted downtide) was plenty. On my uptider a 5 oz grip did the job.

Couldn't quite believe my eyes as we left poole harbour enterance at about 10.30 this morning. In the distance toward poole patch I could see a heap of different boats. At first I thought there was some kind of rescue operation going on but as we got closer I realized no less than 16 boats were fishing the general area for Bream !! Joined in for an hour or so and plenty of the lovely little fellas were being caught from all manor of different vessels. It wasnt long before I was feeling the need for a bit of solitude and we opted to have a quick motor over to the Dolphin sands. As soon as we arrived the fish started biting and the fishing only slowed over slack water. Between the two of us we had around twenty whiting/ a similar number of Lsd, eight Bass (none over 1.5lb) a lovely gurnard and a couple of bream. Fantastic fun ! Unfortunately got smashed (ok mainly due to my own over eager strike) by what I think was a sizeable bass, something heavy anyway.......

Sid the shark loved bananas and couldnt believe his luck upon spotting one nearly ten feet long.
