Ah I see what you mean. One possible way of resolving the problem is to modify the forks (dead easy job and I'll do it for you if you want) to accept a pnumatic pnewmatic newmatrik BLOW UP wheel which would give a better load spread on sand B&Q sell them they are about 8" dia.
The other way would be to make up a 'dolly' that attaches to your tow hitch when needed.
And in writing this I have remembered a sort of sled thing that one uses on soft sand. The Jockey wheel sits in/on it and allows the front end of the trailer to slide with little friction over the sand as opposed to sinking in. I bet one could knock one of these up too.

Brilliant Paul, although I wish the birthday girl well as soon as I will lookforward to the prospect.
No joke ... A bag of frozen peas is a good way to get rid of muscle spasm in the back. Peas on the area for 2 min, then a hot towel for 2 min and alternate two or three times.
Mike
Marc, are you talking about a jockey wheel? It's a hight adjustable, swiveling theird wheel at the front of a trailer. You can buy them at trailer shops, caravan shops, and lowest cost of all ebay auctions.

Pardon my lack of knowledge but what exactly is a 48hr spicies hunt.......?
Are you talking about going out for 48hrs ? or a specific period within 48hrs?
Although boatless at the moment I would like to support the club if someone needs a crew, but as a diabetic I have to follow a fairly strict timetable for drugs and food etc, so 48hrs on the trot is out of the question for me.
Bob F did ask me if I was comeing but I said no thanks at the time, however I have been thinking about it and would like to know more please...........
Any one....................?

I have found that marine units sold at chandlers to be ridiculously expensive. However the little 12 volt neon 'wander' lights that plug into a cars cigarette lighter, you know the sorta Halfords jobbies, are ideal. You can either wire them in on a permanant basis or keep them demountable and clipped onto a pair of S/S spring clips when wanted. I prefer this method as you can unclip and move the light to where it's wanted if needed. Neon also uses a fraction of the amps that ordinary bulbs use.
Mike
Oh absolutely if that's still ok with you. I've been doin' decking and buildin' bathrooms for three weeks solid so I am really looking forward to it.
Mike
Yes I've got two so you can have one no trouble. The differance between a mini wheel and the same size PCD trailer wheel is the off set of the rim to the hub. If you find a mini wheel fouls the mud guard stay, turn the mini wheel the oter way round and hey presto a trailer wheel

Don't the shark fishermen do someting like this using an inflated toy ballon on a weak cotten link as a float.
I find the idea interesting and I will certainly try it once I am afloat again.

It seems 10 knots means many different things to different folk. Aparantly if you have a big tupperware boat it's slightly less than the british water speed record. Or if you are a charter skipper it's the maximum displacement hull speed +10% so their wash is at critical wave hight for any boat within 10ft (the distance they usually pass by). On the other hand there's the bloke who in a narrow channel on an ebbing tide who goes at a slightly lower speed than steerage way for any one else and then screams at you 10 KNOTS if you have the timerity to pass him so you can actualy get steerage and gain control of your direction.
Mike
Unfortuneatly this was their price when I looked just now........
