  4. INFAMY INFAMY!!! you've all got it in for me!!! Paul is a papperatzi of the worst sort!!! Bloody CCTV on a boat!!!! Mike (blushing) "I'd like to thank the rest of the cast and my producer etc etc"
  5. Unfortunately the piccie of mine is not available due to a slight technical hitch - camera was on wrong setting when taken - typical ! ). Paul is being very diplomatic. The wrong setting he is refering to was him setting it in my hands. I am a technical clutze and did not apprieciate that a digital camera needed turning on!! Not only that but the lens cover still being on didn't help either Mike
  6. We've also got some rag worm and some squid. Mike
  7. I asked at a couple of tackle shops and they looked at me as though I was a loony (Perlees! I'm trying to be serious). One even replied in a huff "No mate all ours is washed clean"......... Did I hear on the club site that it comes up from the Faulklands? Well it must end up somewhere??? Animal Feed processors?? Mike
  8. The BBC forcast has now fallen into line with the Metcheck forcast I related earlier this week ........ Sat 29th cloudy with some sunshine, Wind Sw 9mph Temp' 16C. The Met office forcast is identical Sea state slight to moderate......... But I guess if one went over into the lee of the IOW it would be Harry Flatters. Mike
  9. Dat's der Bunny!! Mike
  10. "Aye Aye Cap'n" said the crew, genuflecting greatly and tugging his forelock. And that's no mean trick I can tell you!! Mike PS Don't tell Paul but if you've seen that Devils Kitchen with Gorden Ramsy then you have an idea of what it's like crewing for 'The Master' as he likes to style himself...............
  11. Word of warning tho, stay away from Mike, he's trouble ........ Eh!! what!! A little excentric maybe Trouble? Never Any way the girl is outa hospital now and with therapy she will one day be able to look at pea soup again And as for the sheep, how it got into the locker of the boat heaven only knows. I just asked the wife for a wooly jumper. Mike
  12. You missed out Hail, earthquakes, and devine intervention, not to mention the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. Mind you I 'spose that's not as though it would be the end of the world would it? Mike
  13. I suppose it's all down to what we think the meaning of fishing is. One could go out in a dinghy and wait for a fish to jump into it, and we all know that it sometimes happens. But that is not fishing it's luck. Similarly one could tow a hook through a shoal of fish and hope with luck that it impails a fish. That too is luck not fishing. I think fishing starts when one uses a degree of skill to achieve the object of ones efforts. So IMO a fish foul hooked through the tail or back is a fish caught by luck not fishing. The mouth or the area of the mouth is fishing. So I for one would not want to claim I had caught a fish by any other method than fishing. A hook in the tail etc was luck. Mike
  14. I tried that once and boy was the guy in the chip shop livid! Mike
  15. Haven't you noticed you never see his reflection in a mirror?? Mike
  16. Bloody well done! I think most of them are watching the footie at the moment but hang about and they might come out to play at half time In the mean time there's me and Newboy if your desparate and not choosy who you talk to Mike

    Cable??

I knew Paul D would have the math's . I just glad that someone scientific could put numbers to my 'seatof the pants' knowledge Mike

    Cable??

In a nut shell ......DON'T DO IT! I don't know the formula but experiance tells me that there would be an unreasonable electrical resistance with that length of cable and the voltage drop could reduce your starting ability. Not only that at starting volts/amps demand there could be a risk of heat build up if too thin a wire was used. Something quite substantial like quality jump lead wire would be required. Best practice is to have the battery as near to the power demand as possible. Mike
  20. I think you might have a live one Martin Mike
  21. Metcheck shows rain on Friday night but clearing for Saturday day time, only to return later. Saturday day time 25% cloud with sunny intervals, Winds SSW 12mph, Pressure 1016 Mb having fallen from 1020 Mb overnight. Still air temp 18deg C. Sunday similar....... Monday onwards CRAP CRAP CRAP with wind rain and attitude!
