Hi

have any of you had this

i was out with the mrs and the dog for a walk along the coast line for a couple of hours.

on returning to my van only to find a parking ticket!i have an annual parking/slipway permit,100 odd quid! on the windscreen

so i rang the council and they said i got the ticket because there was not a trailer attatched to the van,and the fine stays!

i was amazed,

I think you will see that the signs do actually say that if you park in the slipway bit you MUST have a trailer attached.

I would be interested whether you were actually in the trailer bit or the normal car park bit??

i was in the trailer bit,i have also parked there before with my stand up jetski in the back of the van and launched with a small trolley,no trailer needed,

looking at my annual parking paperwork it also states on weekdays permit holders only aloud to park from 10am onwards so if you want to catch the early tides/fish say 6.30am you have to pay the 9 pounds in the machine is this correct?

probably padlock the launching trolley to the bumper of the van..... Silly I know, but as Brian says, it would be the councils way of preventing missuse of the car park by local workers.

I have just thought, this post could quite easily relate to me when I am in the car park having launched my kayak ...... Mmmmmm??

I once mis-read the notice and paid the wrong fee.

They gave me a ticket.

They didn't make a proffit though. I wrote and argued it a few times.

It was a genuine mistake and I had paid although it was the wrong amount.

Did you explain you were new to the area and did not realise you were breaking any rules?

I would fight this one mad.gif

many a time i have asked the traffic warden......are we o.k to park here (baiter slipway carpark).....and have been told ...'yes sir it is the vehicle with the permit not the trailer and boat'

i have done this loads of times mainly when walking into Poole on the evenings of car/motorbike stuff and never had a ticket.

I would write a letter and tell them what the traffic warden told you when you asked them about parking(afraid you can't remember their number though) ph34r.gif

best of luck Gary
